Favorite compound via rotary?

what do you guys think of #85 with wool pad?

Heavy cutting for sure. But I haven't found #84 or #85 to have the most uniform abrasives...I always seem to get a few rogue swirls that run super deep when using this stuff, resulting in extra follow-up work.

Menzerna 3.02. Not exactly a compound but will remove some good size defects and a scratches while restoring gloss to it's fullest. I really do not see using a compound anymore. I will just step up from a polish pad to a cutting pad.

I too like the Hi-Temp mixed with OP 50/50, though I haven't used it much in the sun.

And as far as that Burgandy cutting pad is concerned, testing with my ETG has shown that wool give about twice the cut and leaves the surface is similar condition...so there's really no place in my arsenal for rough foam cutting pads.

I'm going to tryt he 4-star compounds next.

Orange pads work well with polishes.

I'm with Rag on this one. Rotary users will see better and faster results using a mild wool pad and compound or a polish. You will generate less heat reducing your chances of burning the paint. You can really create a lot of heat with foam cutting pads and if your using an aggressive compound you can almost burn in swirls that will be very hard to remove

I like OC new formula with wool. OHC with foam. I would not recommend the OHC be used with wool.

Ron, I got a sample of the new OHC (blue formula) when it first came out, but don't have much experience with it. However, I will say that it really tore the paint up (presumably because it uses some heavy abrasives)...what's your take? I presume you are saying the new OHC with wool is simply too aggressive?

I use both HTEC and HTEC/OHC(old version). IMO the HTEC works great with a yellow CCS cutting pad. Mixing the OHC into the HTEC seems to reduce the cut-quite frankly I was having a hard time removing 2000 grit sanding scratches at about 1400 rpm.

Mine is Menz PG and OHC.

BTW, what color is the new OHC? Mine is bluish(dont know if this new or old).

TIA

Anybody have any good pics of what you're all attacking with these combos and the results you're getting?

You have seen the click and brag section right? Pics of these combos being used all the time.

That sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm gonna be trying this with 3.01 (well, Blackfire Scratch Resistant Compound, but close enough) until my 3.02 gets here.

The results you've achieved with 3.02 are just phenomenal, Rydawg.
