Fav. Clay Bar

Yeah I was dreading the fact that I learned I could no longer get the old yellow poly clay I used to love anymore due to the patent fight. I read some recommendations on here about the blue Clay Magic and decided to try it ($12.99 at Autozone). I was a little worried it was going to disintegrate since I just use Meguiar's GC shampoo as lube, but it help up really well and did a fine job on my Jeep that hasn't been washed in about 2 years. It's spotless and smooth now, although the clay is totally done for (just filthy, but held together great). The only thing I noticed was it gets pretty hard and does a number on your hand from re-kneading it.

Anyone know whether that Clay Magic Clay Lube is worth anything since I didn't use it (nor will probably ever use it since I'm used to using the GC)?

the lube was pretty good. i really liked the spray pattern of the bottle. they dont really give you a lot with it though so i ended up using a QD

What I meant was, since I don't plan on using it as clay lube, can I use it for anything else? Would it pass as a QD for just removing bird crap and such? A smaller bottle might be ideal for toting along in the car to get stuff like that off in parking lots, etc.

I noted a very strong alcohol smell from the Clay Magic Clay Lube. That being the case I personally avoid using it as a QD since the high alcohol content is likely to remove waxes/sealants/glazes, etc.. I could be wrong on that but better safe than sorry and since I have 3 other QDs (ONR/Hot ROD/FK 425) I just stick with those.

Just my $0.02.

I've only tried the Megs white clay bar that comes in the box with a MF, QD, and cleaner wax sample. I can always go get it cheap at Walmart and it's always done the job for me.

Wouldn't just using the clay (regardless of the lube used) remove the wax/sealant/glaze?

Yep, claying will remove wax/sealant/glaze, but if you're just hitting the surface with QD the goal is to not remove any product, just enhance it's look.
