factory hubcaps

FYI...just don't use any harsh cleaners on them, like S&R that has not been diluted down to about 10 to 1 water to cleaner...use could also an APC as well mixed the same way
 
I treat them the same as my alloy wheels.
Wash, wax/seal with the same products I use on the paint. I don't own or use any special wheel cleaners or waxes.
 
Well i was thinking that Charles, I have wheel sealent but i have been known to throw some type of wax on my rims for a instant over the top shine, i used poorboys qw+. But hubcaps i would not think get the same heat as a rim would, so waxes or sealents would hold up well for this app.(i think).

they still get the same brake dust and it's easier to get clean with some protection ;)

Keeping wheels protected with a wax or sealant definitely makes them easier to clean.
I think the fact that I do keep mine protected is the reason I have no need for dedicated wheel cleaners.
If I'm using Spray & Wipe to clean up the vehicle, S&W is also what I use on the wheels.
The same thing is true for conventional or rinseless washes. Whatever is used on the rest of the vehicle is what is used on the wheels.
Seems to be working. The GP is in it's 10th year and the wheels still look great. The wheels on the Montana are in their 5th year and the same thing is true for them. (I have only had those wheels for about 30 months.)

The original "hub caps" were just that, a cap that covered the center hub portion of a steel wheel. They eventually were replaced by "wheel covers" that are often also referred to as "hub caps".
