EZ Detail brush - full size or mini?

Which one do you think is more useful all-around, both for wheels and under the hood?

Is the mini one still big enough to be useful for wheel barrels and wheel wells?

Of course we'd all ideally have both, but what if you could just have one?

Mini will be too small for barrels and wells imo, but it'll be good for spoke and under the hood. I have a new unused full sized Daytona (red auto version of the EZ Detail Brush made by same) if you're interested in buying or trading.

How much / what are you looking for? The only good thing I have to trade is a 95+% full bottle of Klasse sealant glaze.

Trade for a Ace Powerstick 601?

I use the Daytona and the EZ mini. The Daytona is too big to fit between my front brake caliper and the wheel. If/when the mini breaks, I'll get the Daytona Jr. Autozone sells one (their brand) that's similar and it's in between the large and mini brush. I believe when I was buying them they were $5. Good compromise if you don't want to spend what they charge for the name brand ones. It does have an exposed metal shaft so you need to be careful when using it. It also likes to bend right at the base if you move the brush from left to right with too much pressure so I would clean the wheels in the direction of the brush. (front to back as opposed to side-to-side)

Hope this helps!

Looking to invest in some wheel brushes. Between the EZ brush and the Daytona which do people prefer? Would you buy both brushes the large and small??

Like Dubbin1 said above, the Daytona is suppose to last longer and I personally am going with both because the large one can't fit in some places while as the small one can.

You sure that the EZ/Daytona is what you want/need?

Yeah, I'm always coming on these threads and sorta-bashing them and yeah#2 I understand that's questionable behavior, but I clean all sorts of wheels on our vehicles and while I do find occasional uses for my EZ brushes, I simply never seem to use 'em on wheels.

Leaving aside the whole "are the gentle enough?" issue, I still have to reach in there with something else to clean the backs of the spokes thoroughly and otherwise get that last 5% of the [dirt] off.

well, what DO you use for wheel barrels and wheel wells?

I use the big EZ brush - been lucky since it's never let me down and I understand others have had some issues. I do take care of it and always rinse, air dry and put back in the plastic it came in. For the parts that it just won't reach, I use a bug sponge that's passed it's prime and doesn't get on the paint anymore. Occasionaly I have to reach for the old toothbrush!

Eh, I left that out as I'd just posted the details in another thread....guess that doesn't help any on *this* thread, huh?!?

I used to always use a Quickee Sponge Mop (Link: Welcome To Quickie.com ) but it only fits between the wheel and caliper on certain vehicles and you have to be *VERY* careful about the steel-loop core. OK, I do still use 'em a lot, but they're risky enough that I don't recommend them the way I once did. They are handy for wheelwell/undercarriage duty though, even though they wear out kinda fast (and then you *really* have to watch that metal core).

I usually use the little sheepskin mitts made for wheels that Griot's sells (pn 10209) and I also use "big swabs" that Griot's (pn 10241) and others sell. The sheepskin mitts work easier than I expected; when I first bought one I expected to think "yuck, waste of money!" but I ended up *really* liking the thing. A cut-up piece of an old regular mitt would probably work almost as well.

I did just think of this last night: if I wanted to clean the barrels of the beater-Audi's BBS wheels, the EZ might be a way to reach in through the little openings  Maybe I'll give that a try and see if it makes me change my tune any, but as it is I just don't clean that part of those wheels on a regular basis (yeah, more Autopian Heresy, huh? :o ).
