Well this morning I had a call from my sister who was at work. Apparently one of her co-workers lives near the hospital I work at and told her there was a big explosion and that they we're evacuating the patients. Since I was scheduled to work at night, I figured I should see what happened.
Turns out a boiler exploded cutting power, hot water and AC to some of the floors. It wasn't as bad as I though it would have been, it happened in a pretty isolated area. Luckily only two people had minor injuries. Thank God there we're no babies in the nursery which is right above where the explosion happened. Bricks, cement and other debris shattered the windows in the nursery. I just went up there and it's really fortunate nobody was there, but at the same time it's really freaky. The hospital is now a ghost town, completely empty which is also freaky as hell. For some reason my boss wanted me to stay in the pharmacy just in case the hospitals where all our patients we're transferred to needed medicine. One girl was saying this is the first time this hospital is empty in over 100 years.
I believe there will be a big board of directors meeting on Monday to work out all the details, but it's uncertain when everyone will be back in. They say mid next week, but I think longer.
Anyway heres a pic I snapped this morning. I'll have more tommorow night seeing how I'm scheduled to work but I'm doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and the hospital is empty.
That's all the excitement for me this weekend.
