Explain this failure

1992 Accord. used to be kept in pristine condition up until about 2001ish. Rarely had machine car washes, was always waxed by el cheapo oribital buffer. Once standard accord rust set in I stopped cleaning it, and the paint magically started failing on the right side?

What exactly is some of this, other then what the car bra did?

After some DACP and PC. First try, just testing the stuff out on my old car. Trying to learn how to use it and not expecting much. As the day went on the color started to fade again.

Haze I get with DACP. Very tuff to remove.

Right side was repainted before I owned it. Why did it get so dull? And what are the chips that are missing with what appears to be nice paint below? Looks like 50 grit sandpaper was taken to it? Could I sand down to nice paint and spray on clear?

Thanks,

i have a 92 that is fathom gray looks black. i had to have it repainted because of clearcoat failure. most early hondas or late 80s early 90s most car manufacturers had clear coat defects. it doesnt look like clear coat failure except in the chip picture. itll look like white clouds on the hood roof trunk lid and tops of the doors.. it doesnt necessarily peel off like gm cars do. yours looks like faded paint from sitting outside.
