Experience with AutoMagic products?

BC-2 is a decent polish. I'll have to disagree with Dean on the ez-paste. I think it's a royal PITA to work with, but it does give decent results for what it is.

That's the difference between detailing for fun and detailing for food and a mortgage.

I do about 900 cars a year. About half are weekly wash customers and the rest are either full or exterior details with a few interior only details thrown in. With my market, I am able to charge enough that using more expensive products isn't a problem. However, if I had a fixed location and was running 10 cars through it a day, bulk products like AM or Rightlook would be a better choice.

Body Shine is a good QD and of course, Clay Magic rocks. Wet Wax is a pretty good product as well.

Curious thread, considering that this is a professional detailers' forum.

If you are buying ANYTHING in a 16 oz package, then you are posting the wrong forum.

To not know of the major manufacturers of the chemicals that are germain (look it up) to your profession is simply not acceptable... what were you thinking when you posted in this Forum?:wall

Sure, some brands are not established in every market. Malco gave up on Indiana about a year ago. Car Brite, Auto Magic and Meguiar's call on me weekly. ValuGard is a phone call away, as is Ardex and SwirlFix (ok, I made that one up...)

As Mike Phillips would say, "Find something you like, and use it often."

Ah, David's wicked sense of humor! Thanks for the laugh, now I gotta get the lawn mowed before the wife gets back and thinks I've been looking at hot babes on the internet all morning.

I wish the Meguiar's rep would stop at our shop.....never have seen him/her. The Auto Magic rep will come by upon request...

Yikes, what gives? Are members not allowed to ask questions anymore? If Autopia was only welcoming professional detailers; then that is sad because we should be here to help everyone. If you are meaning the "Professional Detailers" section maybe the original poster was just trying to target the right people with his question. How sad..

I agree. It appears most of the folks here are willing to assist without question where as a select few only want to put someone down for trying to learn. It must be nice to be so smug since you know everything and the rest of us are obviously bumbling fools.

I have used products from Malco but not from AutoMagic.

Interesting thread. Even I know who Automagic is and I'm far far away

To be honest, the boutique gear is available in gallons as well as 16 oz and I've turned my back on all but one brand of the bulk professional stuff that's available in Australia, including the two M companies.

because the stuff is not cutting edge, don't have products that can polish unpainted materials, still believe in liquid dressings for everything trim wise and the polishes are not up to it

The boutique products and a select few bulk products like foaming degreasers that are not caustic or acid based are what I choose to use since I probably do one third of what scottwax does as it's a service that only clubs, showies and big money makers with fancy cars want.

I consider Menzerna to be both boutique and professional

What I get from the online suppliers like AG is mostly gallons of Duragloss, Optimum ONR, DP interior protectant, Wolfgang Tire Gel, Sonus SFX polishes and Tire Gel, Blackfire and Einszett

Automagic probably have some fine gear and I would like to try every brand eventually

So far I've tested sixty five brands and use 95% boutique and 5% bulk products

What unpainted materials are you polishing?

hard urethane exterior door trims, textured side mirror backings and other surfaces, high gloss plastic, wiper arms, fibreglass, door protector moldings and most anything on a car that's unpainted.

some are done by hand, most by rotary with 4 inch pads with blue tape to protect the surrounding surfaces like paint and glass

I used automagic years ago in my old shop where I did a ton of used cars that I sold, and they all performed very good. All my workers said they likes the bc polishes better then megs and lasted longer also. They are perfect for average cars where cost is a factor and a customer is on a budget also. I personally would never use them on a highline detail or a show car, but they are an excellent choice when bulk is a factor and speed is needed. The bc-1 and bc-2 are pretty good shine makers.

Ardex is also a great choice for quickie shines and is sold in bulk. The stereo glaze #2 was my favorite consealer for used cars and made me a fortune back in the day.

white magic and BC2 were some reliable go-to's for me when i used AM. also a huge fan of dress it and magic dressing.

I realy like their paint sealant and hydro wax. Good stuffs!

Have anyone used their any products from their bodyshop line, called Body magic?

And what about the risk free system?

Well, one nice thing about Automagic is that you can order small 16 oz sample sizes of their products and try them. They are much cheaper than the "boutique" stuff you find on the web. Currently, I'm using Malco because: available locally, works great, cost effective. But, I'd love to try all the AM stuff - and I will.

I used them briefly while in California, and I liked them for what they offered. The price says alot though. If your doing work for cheap than you will find these products to do well for you, but if your looking to be a more upscale detailer there are better products to use for sure.
