Also, when you do those two step polishes that include the rotory and the pc, do you finsh the whole car with the rotory first and then start the whole car with the pc, or do you finish each panel with both?

Sorry Joy i missed that one, Yes i do the rotary first on the entire car and then use the pc to apply the last polish over the entire car, only removing polish after I have done about half of one side.

mgm - I killed 2 new lc pads on this detail. I am switching to meguiars soon becuase I cannot afford to keep buying new lc pads.

as for prom we do the grand march then go about 2 blocks to the marina for a boat ride, dance, and dinner, a limo would be rediculous for that..

Doesn't that milk crate hurt you ARSE? I've been using a little read seat with a tray on the bottom. I got it at Pep Boys. Its comfortable enough but the wheels are bending and don't allow the wheels to spin freely.

The crate carries products and then I use it as a step ladder, I have a roller, i will post pics on the next detail, a caddilac escelade stretch..

Before you switch, check out Scott's prices at SMP.

Opinion Greg?

Are you inferring that Meg's pad's are superior to LC pads? Or that Meg's are cheaper?

When are you going to hit the trolley car?

do you detail and polish the roof to or just the sides

I may be wrong but it looks to me like it is a vinyl roof. I wondered the same thing before closer inspection.

just trying something new with the pads, I havnt used the LC pads for more than a few details and they are about ready to throw. The pad is just falling apart. I will contact LC for a replacement, they are nice people. I am going to try the megs pads though cuz they are cheaper and I was wanting to try a 6" pad anyway because it can fit into smaller areas.

The trolley will be hit up one of these days, I just dont have enough time to take care of it right now. It will be one stepped if I have any say in it. Thinking some fk1 #218. I will have talk to mgm2003 for his opinion on that as I have never used it.

Most of limos have vinyl tops, thank god so I just clean it off, usually some qd to remove dust.

I've tried quite a few pads, and LC foam (IMO) is hard to beat. The 6" high gloss constant pressure pads are great, but the backing material breaks loose. The 7" con caved pads fit your plate perfect, and the backing material lasts MUCH longer.

You haven't tried #218???? Oh my, will you smile! Give it a shot on your polishing pad @ 1400 for mild/medium defects or @1200 & a finishing pad for the light stuff. I personally like it better than #2180 because it will do light polishing and seal. I also like the look of #218 vs. #2180 -especially on black paint. Top it with liquid souvern and you'll wet your pants.

I'm not sure if I'd try FK as a 1 step on a customer vehicles unless they're in pretty good shape. You might have to use 303 or 330 first, then #218.

Thanks mgm, the trolley is oxidized so I will get a jug of #66 but i will definatly get some 218 on the next order!
