well i used ex on my car this past weekend and today i washed my car and its shiny, but the car feels a lot rougher. It didnt feel this rough before i put the ex on. whats up with it?

Rough how? Like squeeky rough? Or gritty needs to be clayed rough?

How strong was your shampoo? What has the weather been like?

Do you have acid rain in your area? I don't see your location in your profile(should I call CharlesW? :rofl )

well i live in florida. its winter so its not that hot , its nice outside. hasnt rained in a while. It feels gritty, like needing to be clayed again.

Havent been able to wash it at my house because of work. so i took it to a carwash , the do it yourself thing. I sprayed the car down. used the soap that they have there and my own brush. dryed it and now its rough?

Sounds to me like you have come into contact with some type of sap, fallout, or overspray since you applied EX. I would clay it and see what the bar looks like, then retrace your steps and see where you could have picked it up.

Have they been paving any roads near you? Painting any buildinigs? Parking under any trees? Is it worse in some areas?

ahh, i just clayed one area before i read this. didnt look at the clay bar but the paint is sooo smoothe. put some nxt on top of it. I think something is on the paint. maybe overspray , ahh i dont know. this state sucks. I hate florida. So this weekend gotta re-clay the damn thing. feels like majority of it is in the front , so maybe i drove through something. what should i put over the clay? i dont have a pc yet. x-mas. i have 2.5, PP, EX, nxt, gold class, and i think thats it. something that will last.

Try wiping it with some spray & wipe and see if it removes the roughness.

I got this same thing one time and it was actually overspray from a lawn service that was spraying as I passed by. Hit it with S&W....good to go !!

Pine sap mist is AWFUL this time of year in Florida. If you park anywhere near Pine Trees then you will get it on your paint and it will have the look and feel of light clearcoat overspray.

In addition to getting on cars, Pine sap mist is wreaking havoc on my allergies!

Need to clay and reapply the EX. Use Spray And Wipe and QD+ often to keep the pine sap mist from sticking to the paint. :bigups

Not sure if you have looked around lately but it is nearly impossible to avoid pine trees. ;)

Pine trees are avoidable. We are talking about Florida. Down here it's the palm trees that grow like weeds.
