EX vs. EX-P

As above, so stop wasting time and order a slab of it! ;). But seriously, near identical for ease of application and removal. I have let both sit for 30+minutes on a car and they were very easy to remove with an mf.

ooooooooops... that would explain why it looked hazed after..

If the car is yours I would let EX or EX-P sit on the car for 24 hours to cure. It will still be as easy to get off as if you left it on for 30 minutes. Top it with a good wax and you are set. Then all you have to do is maintain the shine rather than redoing the whole process a month or 2 down the line.

If it is a car that you are getting paid to detail then you really do not have the option to let it sit for 24 hours to cure but it will add a shine none the less.

If you do leave the EX or EX-P on your car for 24 hours, can you top it with a carnuba immediately thereafter, or do you need to wait again after the EX or EX-P is removed?

i think he means that you should apply exp, wait half an hour and take it off. then, wait 24 hours till it cures, then apply a pure canuba wax. im pretty sure thats what he means.......

What I meant is that you should leave the EX/EX-P on for at least 24 hours before removing it so that it can cure. You can put a wax on immediately after you remove the EX/EX-P whether you waited 30 minutes or 24 hours for it to cure but I have done it both ways and it was worth the waiting 24 hours because IMHO it makes the detail last longer between having to reapply the products.

I apologize but I do not have a shot of the car with a 30 minute wait time before removing but check out these photos and you will see what it looked like after a 24 hours. In both of these photos I have had EX-P and Nattys paste wax on for about 3 weeks and just used Spray and Wipe to clean it up after a 160 mile drive to this show.

The below shot was on the way home after the show.

Let me reiterrate just to make sure I under stand what you are saying.

Apply EX or EX-P. Wait 24 hours before buffing off sealant residue. Apply Natty's after buffing off sealant.

Is this what you are saying 69 GTO Judge?

I don't see any reason for leaving EX or EX-P on to dry for that long. Curing takes place after residue is buffed off. I usually leave it to dry for about 45 minutes, then buff off. I'd be afraid of dust getting on the surface over a 24 hour period and casuing marring in the surface when everything was buffed off.

I was thinking the same thing. Even in a garage "stuff" settles on the paint over night.

Once again I must apologize. You are both absolutly correct. I forgot to mention that I covered the car with a very light weight plastic that is used when painting a car so that very little dust would accumulate between applying and removing. Brain fart on my part. :wall :beat

Good Example of EX-P

If you wish to see a good example of EX-P, please see the Poorboy's World website and see the red Lexus SC430 at the bottom.

Poorboy's World

Or my gallery: Deanski's Lexus SC430 with EX-P

Now this is with ONE COAT and waited ONLY 15 minutes at best!

Pictures are also low resolution (640)

Deanski
