EX v. EX-P

So, basically the difference is that one has Carnuba and the other doesn't. I assume that the EX-P might last a little longer, but that the EX looks a tad better...

Is this true, or would you say that there's really not much difference look-wise? I'm planning to use the sealant on my daily driver, so protection is important, but if the Carnuba in this particular product makes a definite visual difference, then I'll happily go in that direction.

Any thoughts?

I like a carnuaba - EX for 4 weeks of good looks. If you have a clean suface use Natty's Blue. If not you need to polish. Men FPII is good or Poorboy's Professional Polish. Then I like a glaze like RMG then Natty's blue. good luck

I did plan to use Natty's to finish it off.

After washing/claying, the plan was:

SSR 2.5

EX or EX-P

Natty's Blue

Do you think a straight non-abrasive polish should be used before the EX/EX-P?

The look between the two is very close, as is durability. I think EX looks a little better on solids and darks, but not drastically so. It also seems to have a little more wetness, not a huge difference to me. The EX-P makes more of metallic flake, and is a little clearer. If you both side by side, it would be a close call. Both are very user friendly, so much so, that long term durability is not a problem, as you can always do another coat easily, even in the sun.

I agree. The Ex-P makes my metal flake pop more than the EX. The EX is a tad warmer to me which certainly makes sense. Add Natty's and I'd stay with EX-P for the extra durability.

All are so incredibly user friendly.

I haven't used EX-P but I just started using EX. I'm hoping it's more durable than the Pinnacle Signature I've been using. They advertise it is more durable than just carnuba wax. Any thoughts on this?

From what I understand, synthetics are more durable as a rule. That's the appeal of a synthetic v. carnuba.

i called up and was told that if you are going to top it with something, then get the ex-p....the durability is more with ex-p because there is no carnuba in it, only sealant. durabilty should be about 5 months...with ex, durabilty gets cut down to 3 months, but will shine a tad better....

I'd be inclined to follow up with SSR1 or something similar depending on how 2.5 finishes off.

...and if you ever want to go for pure appearance over durability, try using Red Moose Machine Glaze (RMG) after polishing but before EX/EX-P and the wax.
