EX-P question

after applying ex-p do you have to wait 24 hours before you take it off??

no you can take the residue off after about an hour....you should wait 24 hours to let it cure before applying another coat of sealant or wax

I let mine stand for a 30min. minimum before removing.

I agree with Beemer, wait at least 24hr before applying anything else.

I let it dry 30-40 minutes, then remove. curing time can vary, but waiting at least 12 hours is a good idea. Don't get curing and drying confused. A sealant typically dries in less than an hour. Letting it dry more than that doesn't offer any benefit. After that, the product cures where it does it's whole bonding/cross-linking thing. This process varies by product, but it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a day.

If you have the time let the EX-P set up for 2 hrs before buffing off to get the Max. results then wait 24 hrs and do it again .

I don't have a bottle in front of me (which is prefereable to a frontal labotomy), but I believe it says something along the lines of "30-60 minutes or more before removal for best results".

I thought it was 1hr, no more.
Thats the drying time, i belive it says 30-60 minutes on the bottle (i could be more then wrong) then you remove. However once you remove it oyu leave a small amout on the paint that needs to cure or harden. This procces takes about 24 hours. If you apply another coat or an lsp before that you will not have it cure properly and bonding will not be as great. So yes 1 hour is a good dry time it is not a good cure time(there is a difference) i would let it dry for an hour (i ussualy do a half as i am very impatient and it works well) and let it cure for 24hours before applying an lsp or another coat of ex-p

I have seen where Steve said 2 hours would give the best results before
wiping off if you had the time. This would give the best protection.

Perhaps they should change the directions on the bottle then.....

lol, this question reminded me of a guy at work. About 2 days every month he comes to work with his truck hazy as can be, he drives a Dodge Ram dually. He covers his truck in wax and lets it "haze over" for 2 days before he takes it off because "the longer you leave it on then you get more wax and better shine." Just think of how much marring is on that truck after removing the wax after driving it that much, he works 3rd at my workplace and 1st at the hospital. I have never tried to tell the guy any better because I don't really like him that much, plus he is one of the most arrogant people I have ever met.

The directions state to let the EX-P haze and then sit for 30-60 minutes for a deeper shine..

I have seen a very nice increase in gloss when you have the time to wait longer before removal, and Harry said he had the time

"Not much Money, but what a Shine"

The above is from another thread that Steve chimed in on I copied and pasted Steves reply. I had stated the instructions
say 30 to 60 minutes and Steve replied.
