Ever use Clay for water spots on windows?

I have water spots on my windows that don't want to come off..

I have tried

Glass cleaner

Rubbing Alcohol

Cleaner polish

and most recently PI II

I was wondering if claying them would work?

They are clear as can be from the inside but from the outside :)

Read the threads about using #0000 steel wool but that scares me

TIA

Yeah, I use clay on my windows, however I try to make sure it's a pretty fresh bar. Also make sure your windows are as clean as you can make them before you clay... Also remember that clay will only clean so any etching in the glass will not be removed.

From what I understand about water spots on glass, they are often etched into the glass and can often be difficult if not impossible to remove depending on severity. There are a number of polishes that are available to address this problem, do a search for glass polishes, I don't have a lot of experience with them (I've used AutoGlym, but wasn't too impressed).

I use clay to remove road grime from my windows. Clay does a good job and I follow it up with Stoner's Invisible Glass.

I've tried 2 polishes, and 50/50 water with vinegar but nothing worked yet, i doubt clay will work

I've used the 0000 steel wool with some Meguiars #2 and it works excellent. Some have complined that it leaves micro scratches in the glass, but I haven't seen any in my windows. It takes very little effort and makes the glass look like new.:D

I use newspaper on all my windows with glass cleaner and it works great. something in the ink and the material works wonders. Make sure not to use any color sections though if you decide to try this.
