whats up everyone? I just wanted to know how long you are gettin from a backing plate. I recived my order from auto geek friday the 6th I have done my truck my wife's ninja and our civic. tonight half way through my car my pad keeps tryn to take off so i think its the pad i open a new one and it doesn't want to stick.anyone have this problem?Am I doing something wrong?

I vaguely remember someone bringing this up in a thread recently. What back plate is it? I would probably call Autogeek and discuss it with them.

Maybe it's because of the velcro backing :dunno

I have a backing plate problem too :( was polishing yesterday and the backing plate fell off. It for a dewalt 443.. havent found a replacement that fits yet :(

You should PM Mike (Mike@autogeek.net) or Jason (Jason@autogeek.net) about it. I had a light cutting pad that went bad on me and they took care of it very quickly. The new pad was at my door in about two days and it works great. Autogeek has great customer service and they will take care of you if you have a problem.

That would be me JP, good memory you've got. My backing plate had about 2 years use before it (the velcro) wore out. Mine was a Meg's, I believe it was the 4.5/5 inch one. Anyhow I got one locally, a 3M 6" and I'm back in business. However, it doesn't work with my Meg's pads, just my Lake Country pads. :(

Back to the topic, I wouldn't think that the backing plate should be wore out after a couple of jobs.
