Etched clearcoat correction?

Hey guys/gals! I have a question about some etched clearcoat on my Miata from h=Hurricane Matthew. Basically, due to the storm, there were some leaves that sat on the trunk of my car for a few days through all of the rain (10+ inches of it) and when I removed them there was an outline of the leaves in my paint (little white/clear dots) as seen here:

I do not believe that there is/was any protection on this surface (LSP). I think that it is the original paint from `99 and below you can see 2 pics after I did some compounding on the passenger side of the trunk (used Hex Logic orange cutting pad & CG V32 polish - I presently have the entire CG V series line and a small amount of Megs compound & polish).

50/50 here - kind of hard to see the line but it splits right through me:

Angled shot showing some of the improvement with just the V32 compound:

Does anyone have any suggestions for removing the leaf marks? All of the pictures of the markings are after I compounded the passenger side of the trunk. It is can be rather infuriating to see the leaf outlines on a daily basis...

If a chemical like CarPro Spotless doesn`t work the next step would be to wet sand.

Trying Spotless, then straight to wet sand, seems like a huge leap to me. I had bad water spot etching recently and Spotless did nothing. M205 with gg6 and white pad did very little. HD Adapt and an orange flat 4" did the trick.

I am going to give the machine another go at it... I have the off the shelf Meguiar`s Ultimate Compound & Ultimate Polish but not specifically M205. Perhaps the Ultimate Polish with a foam cutting pad will do the trick?
