Essence education please

I own Essence and have yet to use it. I'll be doing a new vehicle next week and would appreciate a little education.

What pads, what machines and how many passes?

Anything else I need to know?

Any videos would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff

Used Essence for the 1st time last weekend. G15 + Scholl Concepts Neo Spider & White pads, I think I went too fast and had some dusting dusting. Applied it at speed 1.5 then bumped it up to 3.5 (I did the washer mod) to work it in. I primed the pad with 5 pea sized dots and a spray of Wolfgang Pad Werks Conditioner. Then put the same amount on again and started. Both pads were brand new. I did 5 passes, it was a bit harder to wipe off than it should have been, but wasn't super hard. Outside of the dusting and extra effort to remove, seems like a pretty easy product to use.

NOTE: Was my 1st time using my DA for anything besides a Nano Autoscrub pad. And prior to that I had only used a DA for a short bit at the 2 classes I took at the Meguiar's HQ. So I'm as new to this as can be. If going too fast wasn't my issue, I did too many passes. It was raining yesterday and today or I would have went out to do the rest of the car - I just did the hood.

I personally use Essence with a Rupes 21 with a 5" backing plate (KB washer mod) and Megs 5" cutting or finishing discs.
I recently did a 05 BMW with lots of swirls. I tried (almost) everything all the way up to Flex PE 14 with wool and no help.
I switched to the above combo - Rupes 21/5" BP/Megs 5" mf cutting discs/Essence and they swirls were magically gone!
This included the trunk that looked like it has been used as a shelf for milk cartons for 10+ years. It was a swirled mess.
Not only were the swirls gone but the really kewl part was the additional "gloss" that Carpro Essence added to the finish.

The results below were accomplished with a "1 Step" polish.

You weren't kidding! I take it this was the car you were telling me about at MTE? What'd you end up protecting it with?

Merlin, I believe those are the shiniest pictures I've ever seen.

I have Essence but haven't used it yet.

Mike, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I applied by hand on my drag wheels, then immediately pbl wheel coating.

Carpro recommends an eraser wipe if applied by hand, which I didnt do because at that time I hadn't read any instructions I was just winging it.

About two months later they appear to be fine to me and bead nicely but who knows, all I know is it looks good.

Has anyone tried applying by hand? Just wondering

If its heat activated then I guess I'd say I failed...

.

I had dusting too. I was on g21 with black pad. 2 speed to spread then I tried 3.5-5 to see if dusting would lessen. no matter what speed. still dusted some. I found the faster the speed the easier it is to wipe. at 5, it becomes almost clear and nothing to wipe

Why would you mix Pad Conditioner with Essence?

That seems like a terrible idea!

If you follow the FAQ from CarPro-US; the product is one of the easiest I have used.

rupes finishing mf.
I used pad conditioner (one spritz before priming)

No issues with removal or dusting. Speed 2 to spread and then 4 with a little pressure (duetto). Two passes. Did add a few dots after 1st pass though. Did half my challenger trunk lid, repeated on other side of trunk lid.

U think the oils in the conditioner will adversely affect the essence? Isn't the sio2 activated with heat, and at that point wouldn't it be reasonable to say the conditioner has already been 'spent' if you will.

Essence is extremely easy to use and buff off. Adding anything to the process would only make it less effective.
