Escort Passport 9500i

Yea X50/R65 are about the same--depends on what day they were built..lol. I have used my dads X50 and from what I have seen gives great detection but I could never give up my arrows with my V-1, I have had a V-1 forever.

My next purchase is a Laser Jammer, Im waiting till the Laser intercepter comes out because from there testing its dang near 100% perfect on all laser guns.

Yeah, I was looking at some used x50s on eBay, as $300 for a detector that's not even the latest model is too stiff for my budget right now, I'm just worried about the fact that most of those needed to be re-calibrated after a little over 2 years. Have you run into this?

As far as laser jammers I've been quite interested in the pro park simply because the "I didn't know it jammed laser, I bought it to help me park" factor is nice. Plus all we have in Illinois is the ProLaser III which is the easiest to jam.

Right now I've got a dysfunctional Whistler Pro 73 and an OLD escort (3200 I think) that I fished out of a metals drive that I volunteered at. I also picked up a standalone Escort laser detector. I'm going to be sending the Whistler in for service, but before it crapped out it was a good detector. The main problem I have is that cops rarely monitor speed in my town (wait, that's a problem?? ) so I need falses to be at a minimum, otherwise I ignore the alerts, and when a real ones comes along I'll be in trouble. How's the x50 with falses?

(Woo hoo! 150th post!)

X50 and falses--dont know really as I havent lived with one for any amount of time. They say they are not as chatty as the V-1 in the city though. I just through my V-1 in the big "L" mode and go--works perfect and doesnt hamper my K/KA ability at all.

I was a major V1 skeptic until I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered one last year. I was using an 8500 previously. The V1 nearly paid for itself the first road trip I took with it. The arrows and bogey counter are so cool and the sensitivity is great in my area of the woods. The lifetime upgrades are a nice bonus, too.

In the whole time I had my x50, I had less than 5 falses, it's one of the best in that area.

See now that's jaw-dropping for me, simply because I get about 5 falses per 5 mile trip with the Whistler (it needs repair, normally about 2-3 per trip). So that's one of the most important things to me about a new detector. But the V1 has some other advantages too. If I do get a V1 I think I'm going to get a 1.7 or an early 1.8 hardware revision. I also like the fact that I can get the V1 used for about $100-$150 less and worst come to worse I have to get it repaired for $45. If I get a used X50 for $200 one repair puts me almost at $300, and I might as well buy it new. I'd love a new V1 but man they're buggy, I'd like to skip anything after the 3.826 firmware was released.

I wish I had the money to get both and compare, and then send the one I don't like as well back, but I know exactly what would happen then... I'd probably keep both lol. Having as few falses as possible is pretty much the most important thing to me (with some exceptions of course) just because I'd love that change from the Whistler, but then again the V1 has the arrows, remote display, the controls are on the front and not the top (for high mounters like me), and the unprecedented laser detection.
