The woman and I are looking at a house to buy. The garage is 2 1/2 cars wide, but has no center drain. The concrete in the floor has it's share of chips and golfball sized 'potholes'. If we get the house, I would like to install a drain and fix the floor. After I figure out the slope of the floor, I was planning on installing a drain. After that, I need to figure out how to fill in the holes and other defects in the floor.
Many moons ago, I saw in either Hot Rod or Car Craft a heavy duty floor finishing system that used an epoxy resin to fill in cracks and holes. Then, a layer of epoxy was added, sand was broadcast to add thickenss, then an epoxy with coloring agent was added on top. Has anyone ever seen this product recently?
The community we live in has community power. My electric bill with A/C would be $30 per month.
) Therefore, full electric radiant heat will be installed along with a bunch of insulation. Since the house has central air, I will use our current window unit to cool my garage when needed in the summer.
By the way, my wife thinks I'm nuts. But she doesn't complain sinc eI keep her Saturn and 70 MGB in prinstine condition.
