“Two-step paint correction process”
I was contacted by this client from I believe autopia to fix his car and give it some proper loving! He takes great care of it from a detail standpoint, but never from a paint correction stand point – that is where I come in a specialize in. Over emailed pictures, I could tell the car was in decent shape, so I knew it would be a one day ordeal on the car. Having worked on a lot of G35’s in the past, I knew the paint would correct rather easily and finish down awesome!
I started the day out with a quick pressure wash to knock down all the dirt from the surface of the car. Next, I washed with a paint protection solution to remove the wax that was obviously on the paint. This is a vital step in the paint correction game so that the polisher/compound doesn’t “hydro-plane” on the paint rather than re-level the paint properly. The next steps included claying with Detailed Image blue fine clay, compounding with meguiars 105 and orange pad via the Griots DA, then menzerna 106 on a white pad to final polish and remove any haze from the paint from the more aggressive previous step. Wrapping up the detail, I cleaned the paint with a paintwork cleanser, then sealed it with menzerna powerlock. While I was compounding and polishing, I removed the slight haze from the headlights and later applied opticoat to them for long lasting durable protection.
Enjoy the before and afters!

My second set of hands whom I am training washing the car after the compounding stage as there was a ton of dust all over. This really makes the final clean up MUCH easier and faster getting all the dust out of the cracks and crevices.

Final shots as the sun was setting…car looked amazing with a new lease on life!!!
