Envious Detailing: 1991 boat detail

This boat was really hammered! Tons of DEEP oxidation has taken over. After a total of about 18 hours, 80% correction was achieved! Main area of focus was the topside, with the Hull getting just a one step. The topside received no less than 5 hits of compound and wool pad over every inch, some more than others! I knew it wouldnt be perfect, but it sure beats a super expensive gel coat repair!

Enjoy, because it was a tough one!

Rotary used on this one...

Barry, only if the money is there!! No way am I ready to do another for cheap! It was tougher than a car, you were right! I didnt think it would be that bad based on the other boats I have done (those were in better condition, much better)

nice job Eric. Some boats really arn't that bad to do but this one looked to be a challenge but it looks soooooooo much better.

The owner should be totally happy with that because the boat looked pretty bad before.

Hope it was worth it for you.

This is my parents old boat that has not been used in over 4 years. To make things worse it was stored outside for 3 of the 4 years. Eric did an amazing job removing the tarnish from this hidden gem. Eric also did a detail on my 300 which now looks flawless.

If anyone is thinking about a detail in Southern Ca, Envious is the way to go! :goodjob

Thanks Ryan, glad to hear you are stoked on the final product! Just have to maintain it from now on! Check your Pm's for the other boat in question...

Next time on a boat this bad break out the sanding supplies and save time, I've done many a boat in that condition and sanding saves time and improves results. I also have the client remove all the hardware makes my job easier and cheaper.

Either way great job!

Cheers,

GREG

i removed the pieces I could...

I also sanded a section with 2500 and it didnt really add to the overall look. Did about 10 passes back and forth, up and down. So I just continued to go at it with compounding. Had I had a mirka setup or the like, I think that might have been worth the sanding effort (speed/timing)

Boat looks 100 time better! Nice work Eric!

Having buffed out more boats than I'd like to admit I can definitely appreciate the amount of work that goes into working on one. :2thumbs:
