Engine Detailed

I spent a couple hours detailing my engine with a friend. We took the bumpers off, batteries out, engine covers off and really got all the stuff behind clean and dressed. I should have took more pics but it was cold and I couldn't wait to rebuild them and put mine inside.

i really just put some bags(with rubber bands) over the wires I took off the battery and put a piece of tin foil on top of my alternator. I also used low water pressure on almost everything. I dried it with a towels and dressed with 303 Aerospace Protectant. It started up nice and easy. No probs at all.

Are your friend and you eating dinner off it this evening? :D

It looks real good. Like brand spanking new, but with shine and protection :)

However, which products did you use on it?

I used some greased lightning degreaser from the purple bottle. It worked pretty good(my driveway was nearly black underneath when I was done). I sprayed and let sit multiple times, then i started brushing down the firewall and scrubbed the intake manifold, and other stuff including the block. I used a couple toothbrushes and a toilet brush(don't worry it was new) to reach behind stuff. It worked pretty good. I then dressed with the 303 Aero. Protectant.

Thanks for the compliments guys...

Nice work! I usually use Simple Green to degrease with brushes and then a Vinyl Protectant. So pretty much the same deal.

Do you happen to have before pics to compare? How about pics of the rest of the car?

Very Nice! That's quite the extensive engine detail. The overall car looks reallll good. Nice and clean. Are you planning on painting the rims to match the tinted windows and black headlights?

i'm actually thinking of switching to the 03 17" honda accord rims. The ones I have are offset too wide and I can't drop lower. So I'm prolly gonna switch with a camber kit. Then drop it a little more and I can really start tuning my coilovers without worry of hitting anything.

That looks really good. Very thourough. More thourough infact than any engine i have ever detailed. Nice work

lol its my personal engine so ofcourse imma take good care of her :) but i havent touched it in a month now and its still spotless just take a wet MF towel and wipe dust off the engine cover i wish the body of the car stayed clean all the time :)

Nice job!

Have either of you had any transmission problems? I love my 4th gen Accord and was really interested in the 6th gen V6 cars until I started hearing on the Honda boards about how bad the automatic transmissions were. I do know that Honda extended the warranty on the tranny to 100,000 miles, but that really doesn't ease my mind. Your thoughts?

wanna trade scott? hehe the only thing i dont like about the tranny is the fact that its not an option to have the 6 spd lol but other than that dinzdale has like 70k i think and i have 25k and my tranny is still runnin smooth no slips but i drive the heck outta it i shift down all the time drive hard as can be and its still holding up i think its just serveral in the bunch had some problems mines an 02 though so knock on wood
