Here's s pic of my recent engine detail. The car is my winter beater (1991 Toyota Tercel with 120K miles). I believed the engine has never been cleaned before. Too bad I don't have any 'before' picture of the engine but it was quite dirty...
I cleaned the engine with water and simple green, and then put some protectant to the hose/wire in the engine. The rusts in some parts is ruining the clean look but I just don't think it's worth my time and effort to take them apart and repaint them
