Engine Degressor

What is the best degreesor when it comes to Gunk, the Gel or the foam.

They all have some good qualities...I use a citrus based cleaner.....and also have some aerosol Gunk for the real tough stuff...what are you cleaning?

I've always been a fan of the foam, but I don't rely on the degresser to do all the cleaning for me. I just want it to loosen the top layer of junk and then I go in with something like Simple Green and clean the rest by hand.

It's still out there. You just have to look. I don't use that as a degreaser anyway. It is more of the final step after the engine bay has been cleaned up. Degrease it first and then use the CD2 to shine it.

I've used the foam in the past with good results, but lately I have just been using an APC and a brush.
I have also used Castrol (I think it was called) "super clean" and purple power, both cut through the grease quite well.

The thing with Gunk is that it works best when the engine is warm, I have made the mistake of doing it when it was hot... it was not a pretty sight  :wall

Good luck

So are they still making CD2, or are we all just scampering about hunting down whatever is left of old inventory/stock?

I remember a year or two ago you were buying CD2 by the case when we all thought it was going to go away permanently:lol2:

I'm still buying it by the case. lol I have to go on Amazon or WaxDepot to get it though. Those are the only two places left that seem to have it. Turtle Wax still has it on their website, but ever since they bought the CD2 company it has been hard to find.

Seriously? I can still get it at the local AutoZone stores, and Murray's Discount Parts stores. They only keep 2-3 cans on the shelf at a time, but it's always there when I need it.

You are lucky then. Most of the country has a tough time finding it on the shelf. It isn't at any AutoZone in Salt Lake that I've been to, and I've got into every single one of them that I find. For most people the only solution is to order it online. :( I'm jealous of your easy access to the stuff.
