Engine Bay Cleaning

So, where can I find a good guide to cleaning out the engine bay. At the moment it is just dirt deposists (no grease or oil to speak of). A search on the forum of "engine" has not turned up anything to useful....



Just Zaino car wash + water solution and a rinse down with water? Anything to be careful of?
 
I believe that steamcleaners work very well. Just cover up your basic electrical sources, and just start blasting away. But make sure you don't go over too much plastic and let it over heat it. It would probably melt the bejebus out of it.
 
I've had pretty good luck using Castrol Super Clean and a mountain of paper towels and gentle spray from the hose. You need to be very careful to not get the SC on your body work and to rinse very thoroughly.

Whichever approach you take, it's a project, but the results are pretty neat to look at.
