Enclosed Trailers

Well the products I used was the reason I posted. I used Powergloss with a wool pad around 2500 and this was the lowest speed I could get all the crap/dead paint off the panel. Subsequently there were slight holograms all down the side when you look at it in the sun. I explained what caused this to the customer, and next time I plan on using something like Meguiars #66 with a polishing pad for a one step wax and polish and hopefully that will get rid of the hologramming. I have already booked 3 more of these so I am hoping that it is ok/right to be polishing this anodized aluminum like this. I've read one post out of about 10 on autopia, detailcity, and megauirsonline that said they didn't think you were supposed to polish them. If you have any experience doing these please chime in!

Thanks,
Shaun

I just spray it down with alum. wash and rinse and go.

If you have doubt about it call the trailer manufacture and ask them . You can't go wrong this way .

FWIW . I never came across any enclosed trailer that was totally anodized . Some companies anodize the bright work on the corners . Most of them are a SS automotive paint thats fairly thin. I would give the manufacture a call . Let us know how you make out.

That will be my mission tomorrow.

Gregcavi, I was thinking of using #66 as a follow up wax to eliminate some of the buffer swirls.

I called Haulmark today, they said "that's the way it comes to us." I asked them if they knew if it was a single stage paint, or anodized aluminum and nobody knew. Hope this helps...
