OK after a hellish winter here in DC, my car looks horrible and has all kinds of crud and tar stuck to it.



My mission: to irradicate all harmful impurities and swirls from my paint.



Steps to take: Here's where you guys come in.



This is my plan:

1. Hand wash with Meg GC Shampoo

2. Clay Surface using Mother's Clay Bar

3. Use 3M SMR for light colored cars

4. Should there be another step here?

5. Use Klasse AIO 2X

6. Use Klasse SG ?X

7. Top with S100



Cleaning the wheels with either Eagle A to Z or P21S wheel gel



Ok that is my basic outline as to what I want to do. Now please feel free to advise on better products or a better order.



Also can I apply the 3M SMR by hand or is it a real pain in arse?

You have a fine plan...

Recent threads have discussed placing another polish at step 4, GEPC/SEC. Then moving on to AIO. You've mentioned you're doing this by hand. Yes... it will be a pain. It will take patience and time to break down the abrasives in SMR by hand. Multiple threads have discussed this fact. http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5540
