I been using an electronic cigarette.

I quit analog (real) cigarettes almost the first day I had the e-cig. This thing is great it vaporizes nicotine and you get a hit but no burning smoke. It has no odor and my taste buds and smell have returned big time. Plus I have most likely saved $100's of dollars not smoking real cigs for a month.

If anyone wants info go the forum for these, traffic there is exploding go look.

don't buy at a shopping Mall they rip you off. $120

Get model 510 or the 901 I have both. Cost onine about $35 for 2 ecigs. The 510 hits harder.

Also they have a unit called a passthru it has no battery it has a USB cable that plugs into your computer and you can Vap (short for vapor) all day, I love mine lol. Tons of flavors and they taste better than a real cigarette. The nicotine really hits you, I had 3 packs of real cigarettes sitting here for weeks and I gave them away, really. I'm freakin nicotine addict must have been since I was a baby my Dad smoked 4 packs of camels a day and in the winter driving in the car was like a smoke camber.

This e-cig really is SWEET

Anti Smoking groups and the FDA are against them, maybe because BIG Tobacco funds them?

A pal of mine in the Jag Club switched over to one of those, and 6-8 months later he's still really happy with it. There are all sorts of different units and flavors.

And yeah... the big-govt. nannies are trying to outlaw this too

Of course they are.......they don't make tax dollars off it and they aren't picking up kick backs from the tobacco companies due to it.

:LOLOL my mother works for the FDA and is so (brainwashed) against these things it's rediculous, according to her they are worse than regular cigarettes (?) :sosad. Whatever, it's pointless trying to argue with her.

I haven't read any documents with concrete proof that e-cigs contain toxins in high enough levels that is detrimental to one's health (although if I am mistaken, someone please correct me).

Anyways, I, too, have heard positive reviews on the e-cigs. I think a lot of the reason nicotine patches/gum don't help people quit as well as these do is that

1.) The act of smoking is very pleasurable for a smoker, with this one still feels like they are "smoking", and

2.) These provide a bigger nicotine hit/rush (think: instant gratification) than any patch or gum is capable of, another reason cigarettes keep nicotine addicts smoking rather than using any gum/patch

Eh...safe/not, I just don't want the govt. (or anybody else ;) ) telling people what they're allowed to do to themselves.

Gee...I sure don't expect them to be *SAFE*, and I can't imagine anybody in their right mind thinking that. (Last I heard the jury's still out in the absence of long-tem studies.) But IMO that's just an excuse for the nannies to tell people what to do.

Yeah, tax revenue/business inerests/etc. certainly factor in, but I just have a sore spot regarding those who feel the need to stamp out anybody else's idea of pleasure. "For their own good" don't ya know.

My pal has found that if he tells people he's using it in an attempt to quit, they're very sympathetic and supportive; if he tells them he's using it because he likes it and it's cheap, they get all judgmental about it

Oughta be pretty safe, no CO, tar, or other combustion byproducts in there.

So the logic goes :nixweiss

Of course nicotine isn't exactly something most people would call "safe", but hey, it it weren't so enjoyable nobody'd want it regardless of the delivery system.

Well, I wouldn't call drinking something that comprises 5% of the fuel in my car's gas tank safe, either, but that stuff seems to be pretty popular.

ya know whats better than an electronic cig? not smoking.

My god, addicts will do anything to get a fix. Nicotine is awful stuff, electronically delivered or otherwise.

The Govinator just vetoed the bill to make e-cigs illegal. This happened just an hour ago.

To the Members of the California State Senate:

I am returning Senate Bill 400 without my signature.

While I support restricting access of electronic cigarettes to children under the age of 18, I cannot sign a measure that also declares them a federally regulated drug when the matter is currently being decided through pending litigation.

Items defined as “tobacco products” are legal for anyone over the age of 18. If adults want to purchase and consume these products with an understanding of the associated health risks, they should be able to do so unless and until federal law changes the legal status of these tobacco products.

For this reason, I am unable to sign this bill.

Sincerely,

Arnold Schwarzenegger

I'm glad it's working for you Mike. I know myself too well and I know that there's no way I could stick to that. I needed to either smoke or not smoke, that's it. The E cig is at least going to get rid of all the tar and gunk from the tobacco.

Don't know if you've ever been to whyquit.com, but it helped me a lot when I quit. Good luck. It's not impossible, but it ain't easy!
