Electrical Question

I think I am having a battery problem but I would like anyones advise before I buy a new one. First off the batter is over 2 years old. Recently I have been having a hard time cranking the engine. It starts, but not easily. Today when i was stopped in reverse the car just randomly stalled on me. And if I leave the lights on while the car is off, for any period over more thatn 2 min then the battery dies and I need a jump. .... Recent repairs include replacing the stater with a used one that I was told is in good shape, and it was in decent condition. Also the battery sat dormant for about 1 and 1/2 months, but it wasn't drained becasue when I replaced the starter it cranked perfectly without a jump. Any ideas would be great!!! Thanks!

It might be your alternator not putting enough juice in your battery to keep it charged up. If you can't leave your lights on for two minutes your battery is not holding a charge. It would sound like an alternator or battery issue.

#1 check yoru cables make sure they are on tight and are clean

#2 take your battery (with your car) to where you bought it and have them test it. Or go to a NAPA shop or Autozone to test the battery for free. They should be able to tell you what the problem is. Batteries can fry if left dead (which doens't sound like your case) or in the heat of summer as well
