I am hoping to get teh wife's black Envoy ready for the winter this weekend. I have some Edge pads I want to try out, so now I just have to determine product selection. I have so many products, I just don't know what to use first. The truck currently has VM/EX-P/Natty's on it, so I'm looking to go a different direction. That combo is stillholding on quite well after four months.

There are some minor swirls that SSR2 will eat up. My Pinnacle SMR Duo came in as well, so I could use those too. I might even give the new Makita a try with the Edge Pads. Once that is done, I'll go either Pro Polish or SSR1 before my final steps. My options as I see them.

Four Star UPC and UPP x however many coats I feel like.
Zaino Z-5 x2, Z-2
Klasse AIO and SGx2
Vanilla Moose and Four Star UPP

Being a winter coat, I'm hoping to stick with a sealant. I may choose to top with Souveran (paste or liquid), Natty's, Carnauba Moose Wax or nothing as a topper.

What direction do you great people think I should go? :)

I am so biased on this that I probably shouldn't even post.

Klasse AIO topped with 4 Star UPP worked great for me last winter. IMO, it doesn't need any other topper. By heating my garage to a temperature around 60 degrees, I was able to add another coat of UPP at least twice during the winter months. In my area, that is about a 4 month period, November thru February.
If you use the carnauba topper, (which I don't think is necessary), you take away the capability of adding another coat of UPP if the weather allows.
That's my opinion, now maybe one of the great people will post their thoughts.

Do you have indoor parking in Rochester? If I had to park outside 24x7 in the winter, I'd opt for the Klasse AIO and SGx2 combo for the durability.

If you have a garage to work with, I'd do as Charles recommended and go with UPP for the beauty coat. I like UPC/UPP just a little better than AIO/UPP. However, UPP has a look somewhat similar to EX-P so it might not provide enough "variety" for you. In that case, maybe Zaino would be something to try. I have no experience with Zaino, so I can't provide much useful commentary there.

I'm with The Rainmaker on this one. UPP and plenty of it(m any coats)!" Winterizing" is my speciality.:lmfao

You are not the first person to comment on their preference for UPC/UPP rather than the AIO/UPP. Would you care to elaborate on your reasons? A different or better look? Easier to use? Less expensive?

I prefer the look of the UPC base for UPP. AIO makes the UPP look a little more bland IMHO. I haven't played with the combo on too many colors (just light metallics), so there may be advantages to an AIO base that I haven't come across yet.

I do have a garage and a heater. Our cars do get garaged in the winter. :D I could add additional layers, but usually I hibernate. The garage isn't insulated, so I can get it up to 60 or so.

Well this winter I decided to try Collinite Insulator wax and started applying my first coat and so far so good. To me a wax should hold up to bird sh*t, bugs, etc. I have used ex, ex-p, natty's, VM CW, SG and UPP. The only one that repeled anything was SG. The others are fine for show, but for winter protection I want more. I have heard good thing about insulator wax and can get it for 12.99 locally. It rained the other day and my car looked like it was just washed, the water runs right off the paint.

Probably a good choice. The Collinite seems to have a good reputation with those that have used it. The S100 Carnauba also seems to cause the rain to wash the dirt from the paint. So did UPP, and Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax. I just thought it was because I did it so often that the product never really failed, so to speak.
Just out of curiosity, why didn't you continue to use the Klasse SG?
