This year we are very enthusiastic about our Edge2000 product line. We will be re-launching the system this month with all new and improved adapters and pads. We have paid particular attention to rectify the past issues and concerns. The glue has been upgraded to a super-strong, hi-temperature and solvent resistant adhesive which has withstood months of testing. The adapter is now shorter and is screwed together with a chemical weld type of Loctite. This new shorter adapter weighs less and brings the pad closer to the machine. Both these changes will reduce the vibration. Then we add the Grand Daddy of security!! To permanently insure that we will never have detachment of the adapter, we now drill a hole through the sidewall of the adapter completely through to the other side. Then we force a pin through the hole and the inner screw leveling it off on the other side and finally we chrome the whole piece. This is just about as permanent and safe as you can ever get!! I just checked my adapter and I think I may already have the new one. What's the difference in size?
 
Actually, no one has the most updated version because as stated above these new ones are even shorter than the last version and have a rod pressed through the side of the adatper permenantly locking the two parts together for maximum security and insurance that they will not detach EVER!! We have not begun shipping these yet as they are not in stock but we are producing them now and will have them within a few weeks.
 
Do any vendors have them yet? I plan on purchasing one of the new ones then sending in the old one for replacement. Like having a backup on hand. :yourrock
 
Sorry, but the Edge2000 system is not available for the Cyclo machine at this point. THe pads are so small that it may not be feasable to make double sided with a hole in the center.
 
Ah Great Customer Service from The Edge! Just wondering how long this offer will last? I won't be able to send mine till May.
 
This offer is of course indefinate. We are attempting to replace all older versions of the adateter in the field with the new style.
 
First off may I say that this offer shows what true great customer service you provide, and makes me proud to have bought one of your products.
Secondly, about a month ago I bought an edge kit for my PC and the adapter came apart when using. I still have parts of the adapter but some of the internals went flying when it came apart. If I mailed that back to you would you replace it, or should I just purchase another adaptor and then mail it to you instead?
I attached a picture of what I have left of the adaptor, it consists of the outer shell, one bearing, the inner screw, and a wierd triangle shaped thing that makes the push button.

That is the oldest version of the adapter. Send it back to the address below and we will replace it immeditatly. I personally guarantee that the situation will NEVER happen again. We have permanently resolved that as well as any other issues with the system and it is now totally safe. I wil be posting some pics of the new adapter shortly for you and everyone to see. Please do not purchase another adapter as they are guaranteed for LIFE and the one you have is all you need to get the new one.

Aaron, does this apply to rotary 1.5 years old adapters? I got one of each DA and rottary. All of which are old style.
Is it possible for rotary adapters to break since they were made with the same tecnology as an old DA adapter?
 
Good question! THe rotary adapters are totally different than the DA. The rotary adapters are one peice construction and screw onto a male threaded post on the high speed buffers. They are totally secure. In fact as the machine turns the adapter is designed to actually screw on tighter to the machine insuring that it will never come apart. The DA adapter is made from TWO adapters screwed together. One is a shorter version of the Edge rotary adapter and the other is a 5/16 to 5/8 adapter that people have been using to use rotary style backing plates on the DA. The vibration and Dual Action of the DA machine is what causes the two adapters to come apart. We have resolved this issue with two ways. One, we now use the strongest form of Loctite on the threads before we screw the two adatpers together. Two, we now drill a hole through the treads from the top and machine press a roll coil pin into the hole premanently locking the threads forever. Because the pin is at the top of the adapter when is screws into the machine the pin is against the back of the machine and cannot move, not to mention it is machine pressed in with alot of force, is a coil pin that is expanded in the hole, and we put Loctite on the pin before pressing it in. Beleive me, this is the end of any DA adapter issues. We have put many hours of engineering into this fix so that we will never have the problem again. This is why we are offering the adapter exchange program but it does not relate to the Rotary style adapters which are not made the same way or subjected to the same forces.
 
Wow!! What a great offer on your part. I do not have your product as of yet but seeing something like this will make me take a closer look. Good Job with Real Customer Service. Something which many companies nowadays lack.
