Some stores sell the new 7 inch burgundy and white wool Megs cutting pad from the Solo system

My PBE store just started carrying the whole solo system. That wool pad is one funky lookin pad.

Im probably gonna pick up megs wool pad from my local PBE store. Not sure if thats lambs wool or not, gonna have to call megs and find out.

Yellow edge wool does work great, i just want it to work faster, i shouldnt have to hit a panel more than twice.

Just to clarify,

we make 100%wool cutting pads that are more agressive than the Yellow which is a 50%wool 50% Acrylic. We actually make two wool cutting pads Natural White, and an even more agressive Black, both which cut more than the yellow. We also make a 100%lambswool pad but that is very fine for only polishing.

So 100% lambs wool isnt very aggressive

Correct, as the name implies, lambswool comes from baby sheep which have very fine not mature hair. This hair is soft, and does not have the same thickness and as many barbs as mature Sheep hair called wool. This kind of fiber is mostly used for fine polishing applications, where most people perfer using foam these days.

See now thats funny, everyone says that lambswool pads are really aggressive, i never understood why they would say that. Now i know i wasnt out of my mind. Im ordering your 6" black wool, i think that will give me the bite im lookin for.

It should, or the natural white wool would also. 6inch wool pads only have a 1inch pile where the 8 inchers have 1.5inch pile. Lambswool is not agressive but can be used with agressive compounds with good results because the pad just applies the chemical but does not contribute much to the cutting action leaving a less marred finish, but would take alot more time and chemical and in some cases not get the job done at all.

Finally played around with it. This time i tried using megs #83 with it and OMG talk about an aggresive combo!! Just what i was lookin for, almost to aggresive. I also tried it again with #80 and it was the same as the OPT line, just to oily. It mats down the fibers and oils them immediately which of course takes away all its cut. Then tried it with megs #82 and it worked great, still very very aggresive though.
