Edge Green pads

Just curious, but has anyone else had issues w/ edge green pads becoming way too stiff after use? I always clean the pads after use, blot any excess water after cleaning, etc. I believe I'm cleaning them the right way, but they seem to get very stiff, and I'm almost afraid to try using them again. Fwiw, the other colors that I have used & cleaned feel relatively similar to that of new ones I havent used yet. TOTALLY not the case w/ green. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something going on w/ these pads? oh and pad conditioner doesnt seem to help much.
 
My green pad is kind of stiff, but it's a cutting pad. So, I wouldn't expect it to be particularly soft. My suggestion is to contact Aaron at Edge Pads. I'm sure he'd be happy to help you figure out if your pad is excessively stiff and if it's not up to snuff get it replaced for you.

I agree that it shouldnt feel like a blue or white, but, it kinda feels (bear w/ this description here, lol), kinda like its crusty, or like styrofoam. Whereas, its stiff/scratchy to the touch, but if you press on it w/ your finger, its almost as though you can push through that thin layer. Take that description w/ a grain of salt, I couldnt come up w/ a better way to describe it, lol. I'll have to give them a buzz
 
Are you rinsing all your soap/pad cleaner out of it? If not, the film can cause a stiffness.



Have you tried briefly massaging the pad in question? I wonder if that would bring back any kind of softness.



Are you having the issue with green pads that you have not washed, or just the washed?

I'm not familiar with XMT pad cleaner , try washing your pads with dish soap and rinse it out with warm water. My green 6" double sides are somewhat stiff but not like you describe your pads. Let us know how you make out.
