Eagles Win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is FLY EAGLES FLY!!:spot

The Patriots had their time...now it's ours!! A NEW dynasty will be born in the first week of February.

Looking back at the past SB's, the Patriots won by close calls...the EAGLES will shine right on through (especially on defense - Dawkins/Trotter/Kearse "SACK CENTRAL" - "RUNNING GAME STOPPED" - "PASSING GAME STOPPED")...also something with a T and O may be playing to aide on the offense along with Freddie Mitchell, Mcnabb, WESTBROOK, Pinkston, and so much more!

We've waited too long, suffered to many defeats, witnessed the past three upsetting championship games...THIS IS OUR TIME!!

ONE TEAM

ONE CITY

ONE DREAM

GO EAGLES!:usa

By the way, Vick is marrying my cousin (ironically she's from Philly)...so I do have a little sympathy.;)

Maybe he'll hook you up with a sweet ride with a part of that $100 million contract ;) Or, you can detail his rides!

While you're at it, you can give him a few lessons on how to pass the ball!! :p BWAHAHAHA!!

I know we are BIG under dogs but I'm telling you, the Eagles are going to surprise EVERYONE!!! GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:xyxthumbs 3 superbowl wins in 4 years? Most likely...

Eagles fans, any word on whether that "TO" guy is playing? I keep hearing different stories from the Boston stations as to whether he's ready or not...

It's all up to the team physician, who probably won't make a reccomendation until at least next week. I really can't see the team taking that risk though, as his orthepedist said he will absolutly NOT clear him to play.

This is just TO's way of attracting attention to himself. Quite, selfish IMO. Rather than stating the fact that the Eagles have done quite well without him in the playoffs so far and giving them his blessings and encouragement, he wants to become the center of attention and present himself as the Savior.

I hope TO plays, is in perfect health and performs well. Therefore, we will not have to listen to excuses after the "TEAM" beats them and wins their 3rd SB in 4 years.

I hope he plays and crosses over the middle......WHACK!

Shut him up once and for all.

Its a wonderful achievement for the Eagles as a team and he has to turn it into a selfish, side show circus.

Now you know why the Pats do so well. Talent is only part of it. The interview with Tom Brady last night on HBO with Bob Costas was excellent if anyone caught it

Spilchy,

I do not get any movie channels. Could you posted what the special ingredient is that Tom Brady expressed on HBO.

TIA

He basically spoke about the collective spirit of teamwork and the emphasis of "team" and not the individual.

He also spoke about why he would turn down more money to place elsewhere because the philosphy of the team (Pats) is geared on winning, not the individual prize. He said some want to be the highest paid person in a particular position, but he would rather earn less and be a winner because that what drives him and his team mates.

I think Corey Dillon is the perfect example of how you can take a disgruntled, quirky player and have him blend in with the others without disrupting the harmony and contribute the way he did. Although he did play for Cincy, he was recognized as a trouble maker regardless.

It's those intangibale that make the Patriots a winner that Brady spoke about and exemplifies.

The same could be said when Michael Jordan first came on to the basketball scene. With all the stuff he did, not one championship. Got him some more better players and want not, and few championships. These are team sports we are talking about not individual sports. One-Two players will not win a championship. The Celtics did not win all those championships with one or two players and also not with offense. Defense and teamwork will win championships.

Thanks Spilchy :bow

I figured that was his presentation. Brady continues to amazes me with character especially with the ME-first attitude that sports has become.

I ordered HBO this afternoon. They have a $5 for 5 month deal going on. Well worth their sports coverage.

The Patriots are a great team...that is without a doubt. They had yet another great season and proved they can again make it to the big one. But, with the pain the Eagles endured of not winning a championship for 24 years, with the new great additions to the team, with the remarkable spirit of this city behind them, with the improved talent of several players on defense and offense...XXXIX is without a doubt going to be a dog fight. We'll see what happens on SB weekend...but I'm telling you, the skill in this game is going to be beyond talent & training, 90% is going to be from the hunger we've dealt with forever trying to get the Vince Lombardi....hence the look on Trotter's face in the picture below. Again, we'll see what happens. If we lose, of course that'll suck, but I and I'm pretty sure every other fan will never forget this season and we'll just look forward to next year, but if we win....

Past graduates - T.O, PrimeTime, Michael Ervin and Willie "whiteshoes" Johnson

I don't quite get your meaning of this post. I'm not sure where Michael Irvin (Dallas Cowboys) or Billy "White Shoes" Johnson (Houston Oilers/CFL/Atlanta Falcons) fit into this short list.:nixweiss Both of these guys were "Team" players whose play on the field helped them stand apart.

Irvin was one of the early big wideouts who could (and did) use his size to simply overpower smaller defenders. Few NFL players worked as hard off season as Michael Irvin, Walter "Sweetness" Payton does come to mind as a peer in that regard.

Billy "White Shoes" Johnson was on the other end of the spectrum. He was only 5'9" but he was fast. Yeah he had a celebration dance, maybe he even orginated the idea for all those who have come after.

T.O. and Randy Moss are two good players whose "antics" make them stand apart.

Billy "whiteshoes" Johnson was the originator of the endzone celebration (the crazy legs :D). Michael Irvin was also elaborate ( one handed high spike after a TD) for "his" era.

All players noted were outstanding in their ability and "showmanship".

You are correct in that they do not come even close to making the short list OF OUTRAGEOUS post scoring antics. I was just denoting different periods (eras) and the elevation to the present level of NFL post-scoring antics. That's where this cartoon comes relevant. Some of today's antics are just "Homer-like" (the sprinkler, dirty bird, etc). I will admit there were more extreme volators that I should/could have used (i.e Joe Horn and his cellphone).

Walter Payton was one the greatest NFL football player in performance, size of his heart and played the game and accepted his illness with class and dignity. I think it was Mr Payton who answered the question about his lack of celebration after a TD.

"Act like you been there before."
