Eagle One Wax As You Dry

Thanks for the info guys.

One more thing though. In my earlier question, I asked if WAUD is good to use when the vehicle is dry?

Say after washing, I dry the vehicle off. Can I spray WAUD on a dry vehicle that has just been washed but has no water on it (sort of the same concept as a quick wax or quick detailer). Will the finish be equally as good as spraying it on a wet vehicle that has just been washed and then drying it off vs. drying off the vehicle then spraying it on and wiping it off? Hope this makes sense.

I assume the wax as u dry will leave even more protection on the paint, as there is no dilluting it with the water that needs to be dried.

one thing i would suggest is spraying it directly towards the mf towel and then swiping the service follwing with a dry side and buffing. the sprayer lets a lot of over spray go everywhere , but atleast the wax does NOT stain plastic, so it should work fine.

never mind. just spray directly to the surface. im gonna try it this weekend and give a good heads up.

I find it ruins drying towels. They don't seem to absorb the same after using WAUD.

I used to dilute it 3 parts water and 1 part WAUD and use it as a QD. It cleaned really well and took things off that Megs #34 wouldn't. This made me wonder what it was doing to the last step product I had on my vehicle. I no longer use it. I know use Mothers FX Spray Wax. It can be used on a wet or dry vehicle and works well.

Anthony- Do you see the same effecs on drying towels with the mothers?I haven't seen a direclt loss of absorbtion but now that I think about it I believe they used to absorb more when they were new...hmm

I just read on the back of the bottle that it can be used wet or dry but the directions are more specific to using it wet. I just bought this bottle. It is the new formula.

Another reason I was asking if anyone every used this as a dry application (like a quick detailer) is because I am using the Absorber to dry my vehicles and didn't want the WAUD all over and in it. I use MF to remove wax and for polishing but not for drying (at least at this time).

hmmm. thats weird. how are u guys washing u're towels. the idea would go the same for a towel u sued for buffing wax. after a while it wouldnt buff as good because the fibers would have coatings of wax.

i wash all my ww in the washer with regular detergent, with 2 ounces of simple green. yes, simple green is safe on mf and will not cause any harmfull effects on towels at thatn dillution. the only WW drying towels i own are the meguiars water magnet and ive owned them for about 7 months. still perform the same. although the color has somewhat faded

Joyriide,

Have you noticed if WAUD builds up around trim pieces?

yes. in the crevices. but not enough to point out and say, "hey, that detailer left wax int he crevices!", and only after a couple sues. either way, cracks should be cleaned with every wash, because in the full sun, atleast on ym black car, u see everything in a bright bright bright eye

Joy,
Thanks for the info. I look forward to hearing how the spray works directly to the surface.

I don't use the Mothers FX Spray Wax with my drying towels. I wash and dry the car than apply the Mothers Spray Wax and buff off with a regular MF. I use it as a quick booster from time to time.

But you don't dry with those towels, you buff. So you wouldn't notice a loss of absorbency.

I never wash my waffle weaves with my regular MF because I don't want the wax residue from the buffing towels to get into my waffle weaves. I wash waffle weaves with glass towels separate from my other MF.

trust me anthony, i hear storiesd about how it stops peoples towels from absorbing, but it hasnt happened to me. maybe its something else that interfered, but i really doubt waud did it. it just hasnt happened to me. ive used them for a long time and the old ones perform just as well as the new ones i guess.

i dont take any precaution other than hot water with my towels, laundry detergent, vinegar, and a couple ounces of simple green. other than that, no other precautions are taken. lol... to each his own

Yeah I use the Water Magnet aswell. Spray the WAUD on the wet surface, use one WW and then follow up with another to have a completly dry and clean surface. The first towel seems to smear the water around more than I figured it would. I'm sure there are other reasons for that but its really no big deal to me. I wash all MF's together with regular detergent and some vinegar and have no other probelms... but I guess if your washing the towels there shouldn't be any products left in them...

Maybe it's your use of Simple Green in the wash. I would assume it's a much srtonger cleaner than the liquid Tide Free I use. You probably clean all the WAUD out in the wash.

Budman3,

Have you every tried using WAUD on a dry surface? Instructions say it can be used on wet or dry but most say they have used it on a wet surface only.
I just bought my first bottle (new formula) and I'm wondering if it works just as well on a dry surface after washing and drying?

I use WAUD on clean, dry surfaces. It works best if you dilute it 50/50 with water or distilled water.

It tends to streak if used full strength.

It actually works pretty well, leaving the paint surface slick and shiney. It will last about a week.

Also, WAUD works well as a QD. Not as well as S&W, Z6 or Adam's, of course.

But I've used it on glass, chrome wheels, paint. Not bad.

I keep some around in case of a "detailing emergency"!!!

I live in salty PA and during winter, I rarely get a chance to hand wash my car. So I take it to a car wash to spray off the salt. After spraying, could I spray WAUD on the wet surface and wipe down with a MF towel or will that kill the finish?

I would go for Poorboys S+W if you want to do that route, Malachi. As Luster said, use on a clean surface and theres a good chance that there is a lot of grit and dirt still on the finish after a rinse. So Poorboys Spray and Wipe will do the trick or QEW (protecl Alls quick and easy wash)
FWIW- I have used WAUD alone on my spare hood to get the surface clean and it was a little difficult b/c of the streaking...but diluting it would fix that problem. Good luck,

I agree with Budman3..... You'd just be rubbing the left-over dirt and film from the carwash, into the paint, scratching it badly.

QEW and S&W are always on my product shelves for winter. (even for salt)

I have used this stuff on and off now for around six years. As well as Mothers Spray Wax which also can be used wet. They are both great, my car always looks great after, and people always comment on how shiny my car is. And before you say it, i have run a detailing business for six years and have used just about every product. This stuff as a stand alone product is ok if you dont have the time. But really it is a top up between waxes, or for someone that is on the run all the time.....For what you pay, it is very good stuff. I can honestly say i just started using Optimum Instant Detailer And Gloss Enhancer. It is not as good as wax as you dry in my opinion, doesnt leave the slickness or the beading.
