Eagle One Tire Swipes

These things are great!

Their curved shape makes application a breeze. I used one to apply Poorboys Natural Look to my tires, and it went on smooth and even.

The ease of application gets an A+. It beats the heck out of a sponge!

It looks like it'll hold up to at least a few more applicattions -- after I washed it, I noticed the foam starting to break down slightly.

Very satisfied with this product.:bounce

How much were they and where did you get them? I have some Meg's applicators that I like. But they are about $2 for two (not expensive, but not cheap). They hold up pretty well, though. So if these are cheaper, count me in!

I use wipes for any tire product. I hate spraying it on because it always gets all over the place. They really help get an even finish.

Hey Aurora:

I got mine at Autozone, I think they were 2 for 2.99. They have them in the CMA catalog too, or at the website. I will check the price in the catalog.....hold on.....yep.....2.95 for 2. Not too cheap, I know....

yeah, they are nice but cleaning them is a pain. Lately, I have been using a cotton cloth to apply Bold and Brite to my tires and i find I can get better coverage that with the tire swipes(plus i can pop it in the washer to clean it). Since the tire swipe is a fixed curvature, it misses some areas where I can get into corners with the cotton cloth.

As you will only use them on tires why would you even want to clean them? Tire dressings are not like a wax that dries out on a pad, if you reuse you will need least product on your following applications.

If you don't clean the foam applicators, they accumulate black grunge and the foam deteriorates.

Where is the grunge from? Are you applying dressings without cleaning the tires? Airborne dirt - use a sandwich baggie.

I figure the swipe gets so beat up anyway from dressing raised-lettered tires that I don't think they have a huge lifespan, so I just use it and keep it in a baggie like mx5gary suggests. I do find it gets dark with dressing, but this must be from the dressing itself because only once they're spotlessly clean do I dress the tires.

I think maybe tires never get squeaky clean. Even if I spray mine down with #39 and the scrub them with a stiff-bristled brush, a towel still turns black when I wipe dressing on them. Tires are just gross I guess... That's why I prefer the foam to towels (I hate putting them in the wash when they are that disgusting). I usually don't clean the tire apps until after about 5-10 uses.

I saw the E1 ones in a picture, and they are a semi-circle. I guess that's what people meant by not fitting their tire? The Meguiar's ones I have are only curved on one side. I also have some Meg's that are ridged. Not sure why they are different as I got them all direct from Meg's. But they are both easy to use (not sure which I prefer) and last a good 6+ months before I pitch them.
