Eagle One aluminum rim cleaner as good/better than P21S???

Which cleaner is better? I have a buddy with a 1500.00 rim set who needs a nice, safe and effective cleaner. He's hooked up on P21S but it's too much money since I'll be cleaning the car every weekend and I like to use alot of spray.

If you're cleaning EVERY weekend, then I'd skip wheel cleaner and use car wash soap and a MF towel.



Follow up with a coat of AIO and SG and you won't need wheel cleaner. Brake dust will just wash off. Plus the wheels will look great!



I haven't used wheel cleaner in ages on my car!



If I work on someone's car I use EO A2Z, 3:1 ratio of EFHI, P21s, #36, Meguiars Hot Rims or just car wash soap. It all depends on the condition, type of wheel and type of car.

P21S is considered the best wheel cleaner by 90+ % of wheel/vehicle manufacturers.



I agree with Spilchy, clean wheels and apply a sealant, my daily driver (100 miles a day) very rarely needs the wheel cleaner, just hosed off, car wash concentrate and rinsed.

If I had nice aftermarket rims and washed frequently I would definitely not use A2Z every weekend. If he stays on top of it soap and water should be enough...especially if he uses wax or SG on them./

Ditto. If anything, a dedicated aluminum wheel cleaner is probably one of the harsher products you could use on them.



P21S is supposed to be one of the gentlest, so if he must use a wheel cleaner that would be the best choice I imagine.



I'd just do the wax/shampoo thing if I had a set of $1500 (without tires?!? ) wheels. By default, that is safest, and waxing them probably helps them stay looking good as well.

Isnt that P21S the same stuff you can get at a Harley Dealership bottled as S100 SEC?

No, you're thinking of their paint cleaner, usually referred to as P21S GEPC. That's the same as the S100 SEC. They also make a wheel cleaner: http://www.premiumautocare.com/p2whclgel.html. Very different product.
