Dusting with Menzerna IP

You can use IP with the Meguiar's polishing pad(yellow) to help with the removal of the swirls. BO is pretty soft but with the PC it still takes a while to polish it perfect. The Meguiar's cutting(burgundy) pad is likely to cause hazing even with a light polish.

Keep going and stay patient and you will get to where you're trying to go.:)

Yeah, I noticed that...maybe its the type of polish. I suspect something like OP or MPP allows you to use something as extreme as the burgundy pad. But, IMO, IP should never be used with it. The results are aweful. Sure, it removes the swirls...and any chance of getting a decent gloss. As I said, with a rotary its fine; not with a PC and IP.

Sorry Alfisti, still learning but by OP you mean Optimum Polish? What's MPP? So how do these products compare to IP? Just wondering. Going back to work on my car today. It was suppose to rain but the sun is out and its beautiful. Anyway here's the list of pads I have and the ones I ordered two days ago or so:

Owned:

LC Orange X1

LC white X2

Ordered

Propel Yellow Med Cut X1

Propel Blue Light Polishing Pad X1

Meg's Burgandy Cut X1

Meg's Yellow Polishing X1

I figure now I have enough pads to compare and apply some of the products I have. All suggestions are greatly appreciated. Black is so hard especially if you are a newbie like me.

You're correct. OP = Optimum Polish. MPP = Mothers PowerPolish.

I haven't used OP but have MPP. By all descriptions they're very similar in how they work. They seem to have a lot of lubricating oils allowing a very long work time without drying, and at the same time buffering the aggressiveness of the pad.

IP is more of a traditional polish that is more sensitive to pad/pressure/work time. Compared to MPP, IP probably has the edge on finish. It will probably handle some of the harder German paints a bit better too. But it has more of a learning curve so take your time with it. MPP is much more forgiving but you need a more aggressive pad than the IP equivalent. :xyxthumbs
