Dust storm in my town! Duragloss AW rocks!!

On there site they list who has there products. I found it at my local Nappa parts store and they didn't have the AW but they ordered it for me and had it the next morning when they opened. Same thing with the 105 but after he ordered it we found it on his shelf,Lol.



TSX Winch, As for removing spider webbing it may do it if it's not really bad but I don't know of anything that will remove all scratches and so on without Major work. You may want to try the 652 with a PC and see how it works.I would use it after removing the deep scratches and spider webbing.





BlackSunshine, All I can tell you is that it has worked better for me than anything else I've tried over the years and I know many of you have more experience than I but it seems to be the rage for many others too. I'm sure that the paint and other conditions can make or break a product for some people.

Next week I may find one I like better, but that's half the fun!,Lol. Mike

Absolutely, and like I said, there's nothing wrong with it. It did everything I expected it to... nothing more, nothing less. It's easy to use and leaves the finish nice and wet looking.... just like lots of other products I've tried. It just comes down to personal preference. I'm looking for products that stand above the crowd. I've only found a few, and they have become staples in my product supply.
 
BlackSunshine, I noticed on your sig that you use Z8 over Upp for your Z06. How would you say AW compares to Z8? I tried AW and really was impressed but I have never tried the Zaino line. In my case I used AW as a LSP over #26 that was topped with Collinie IW. The wax had been on the car for about a month prior to AW.

I thought they were pretty similar in most aspects, especially slickness and gloss. I would say Z8 over UPP had more of a "shiny shimmer" to it than AW over UPP. They are both highly reflective and the AW left the finish looking nice and wet, with the Z8 leaving it very shiny, if you can picture the difference I'm trying to convey.



I would say that if you don't plan on using the Z system, pass on the Z8. Z8 is AWESOME over Z2/Z5, and other sealants for that matter, but if you can get Aqua Wax locally, and you're not planning on using Zaino as an LSP, I'd say go with the AW. It's much more economical, too. Another really good alternative is OCW. It's one of my favorites.

Thanks for the reply, I think I understand what you mean. I have been using Mothers FX spraywax (which I also like a lot) and find a similar difference with AW. FX is shinier but the AW does not mute the flakes as much, more of a deeper gloss.
 
again personal preference- Zaino seems to be a glossy shine and AW seems to be a touch less shiny but a bit more wet. It is a true OTC product as any Carquest store can get it. Some areas might not have a Carquest near them tho.
 
I just got my hands on Aqua Wax and Duragloss wash last week, so hopefully I can get some positive results also.

False, I went to my carquest store today and there were *many* products they could not get for me. After much frustration I just said forget it and told him I would get them online.

I think you'll find that the performance per $$ is very good. The AW seems to be quite durable for a spray product.
 
How does AW compare to OCW ? Is AW a "spray on, wipe off" like OCW ? Is AW consider to be a sealant like OCW ? Doew AW last as long as OCW ? (btw, these are true questions and Not sarcasim)

AW is IMO superior to OCW, in nearly every way. Shine, slickness, depth, and most importantly, durability/protection.



Yes, AW is spray on, wipe off....easy as it gets. Has been fool-proof for me, with a good MF towel.



AW is actually more of a sealant than OCW. AW is pure synthetic, while OCW is a carnauba/polymer blend.



I have found that hands down, AW lasts longer and protects MUCH better than OCW ever did for *me*. I am on 1.5 months on my AW coats (with absolutely nothing underneath), and it still beads very tightly in the rain, and I have not even washed the car in those 1.5 months. OCW was long gone after that same length of time for me. I attribute OCW's performance to the carnauba blend, which typically are not are durable as pure sealant products. For the abuse that this AW has endured in my testing, it is absolutely a fantastic spray wax product! The price and local availability makes it that much sweeter!
 
Me too Me too!!! Hehe....normally I hate following, I like leading. But when there's something new I don't know about, I have to follow and I'm glad I did on this.



I ordered the AquaWax last week after a local CarQuest all but *refused to order it for stock.



I couldn't wait and tried it last night, half AW on the hood, half Mothers Reflections Spray Wax on the other. The first coat of AW that went down was slicker than cat !@#$. Hence, I put 2 more coats down, and the same of the Mothers on the otherside. I'm going to *try and go a week without a wash in the midwest summer heat, then wash, and see how these stack up.



When I got to work this morning, the AW side of the hood looked like it was sizzling a little...similar to the heat waves you see on the road during the summer. I had to look twice to confirm what I was looking at. I never seen anything shine like that before.



If it holds up in the duration category, I'll order a gallon of this stuff.



In Detailing How-To 101, this (along with a foam gun!) should be a "prerequisite".

My local store has offered to special order it but it may take a week to get in or more.



Still, I will try it soon as I think Duragloss is a sleeper, quality product line.

I Agree with Mike..OCW died on me after about 3-4 weeks...last summer



I went 9 weeks with AW with 40 days of rain since May 1st....and it beaded like a champ and it was just one coat..I have tried FX spray wax...4* spray sealant...reflections....Sonus Spray sealant..HGAS...and none have come close to AW in performance and luster...



Between the PBA bonding agent..the 105 sealant..and AW..you have a bullet proof protection and beauty coating on your vehicle...best part is you do not have to spend alot to try it ....

Thats what i wanted to say :hifive: .

I really am enjoying the AW as a great topper for my dark colored cars, where I prefer the deep wet look. Especially on ones that have paste wax (like souveran and Victoria Wax). The good thing about it is that now I can use it also on my cars with sealants only to give that wet shine (great over EX and WG).
 
Well, I have to agree with Tiger Mike and the rest of the Duragloss believers on this one. Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut and let others sing the praises of Duragloss and there likes and dislikes if they have any dislikes.

We will give it an unfair test in the next few weeks when I have to hit the off road boondocks in search of Bear for photographs here in the Appalachian mountains. I can be really abusive but try not to be to rough on it. Mud, briers, brush and stones (rocks ) are all part of the deal. I'm not expecting Duragloss to survive all that but I would like to see how it does when it's washed and just spritzed and buffed with AW. Mike
 
FWIW, my CarQuest got my AW in the very next morning. Went in about 4 pm on a Thursday, they had it at 8 am Friday morning.
 
So I bought some Friday and applied it over 2 layers of SG on my wife's CR-V. Can this stuff really be this easy to apply? Mist panel, wipe until dry? It was so easy it felt wrong. Car looks very reflective and even though SG can be a PITA it looks so great on the Honda Pewter Pearl paint.

Just bought some Duragloss metal cleaner for my Aluminum diamond plate truck bed tool box. They say it will clean aluminum like new. To hot here to try it today but maybe tomorrow evening . I'll let you know how it works. It says to spray it on and let it sit a few minutes and then wash it off with a high pressure hose right away. I will probably try it at the car wash. It comes in the same size and style spray bottle as the AW. Mike
