Duragloss 601 & 105 procedure

Devious1...... Some pictures of 601 followed by 105. Was washed, then clayed.... Applied very thin coat of 605 then 105 about 10 minutes later. Both applied by hand with a foam applicator.

Truck is only 2 months old so no swirls or correction needed. These pics were about 30 minutes after I finished.

Hope this helps show how good DG looks! Oh, paint is metalflake, my poor photo skills don't really show it. The 105 really brought them out! Wife did not know it until she came out and looked..... :spot

that is insane and that was done by hand.

you dont have any problem seeing the metal flake in it in most of the pics for sure

that is what i am looking to get with my gp so i am happy to see those pics.

That i would also think would be great for yellow cause i am looking at trying to get a killer reflection with the yellow and some durability next along with being pretty easy to wash cause my wife parks in a gravel parking lot at work:(

So very nice...:bigups

For me it's best to use at least two coats of 601 leaving the first one sit after polishing for a good hour. After removing it I like to go back over the car with a true cotton cloth and buff lightly. The next morning I like to do two coats of 105 and buff the same way by hand. Then every now and then use the AW to keep it clean and protected. It will shine brighter that anything on the road or off and last a long time. Mike

This completely counter to the instructions...

Lol, Got news for you guys. I was using Duragloss along with people like Al long before it was popular on this site. In fact we took allot of ridicule from some on here because we stated how great the product was. Go back a ways and check some of the old post on Duragloss. I know what I'm talking about.

If you apply 601 and you apply 105 on top of it while it is wet you will not get good results at all. The chemicals in 105 and 601 will still work together regardless of it being applied directly on top of each other with or without polishing first. If you think that by polishing 601 first before applying 105 will make the whole thing not work then you don't have much faith in the 601 lasting or endurance, you make it sound as if it will disappear if you wipe off or polish when dry .

The real truth is that most painted surfaces don't need the 601 to begin with. A couple coats of 105 and then useing AW will give beautiful long lasting results. believe me I know. Don't be so fast to ridicule someone without trying there method. Some of us have been around awhile and tried it first, Mike

I agree with the 2 posts above...601 actually seems to melt into the paint....do it thin...10-15 minutes later 105 is good to go on...I usally wait 45minites to 1 hour to remove..but thats just me..it comes off effortless then....I have done 105 in the morning and did AW that night..but the 12 hour rule is best....I did it on a hot dry day...only reason I did it was it was a friend who was leaving that night....it worked out ok..but 12 hours is best

I just got my DG products. I'm using KAIO as my polish after claying. I know the 12 hour rule is good for the DG 105 to cure, is that when you use a microfiber towel to buff off? And for the AW, how long does that take to cure and when do I buff off with a MF towel? Thanks.

You buff the DG 105 off after 30 minutes or so, and let it sit 24 hours to cure. After that you can add another layer.

AW takes about 24 hours to cure as well, and you can buff off immediately. Actually, in my experience, I find that there's no need to buff off the AW. You just wipe on and walk away..

I let the 105 sit for an hour before I buff off and then let it cure at least 12 hours before applying anything else.

For AW I spray the first panel 2-2.5 times wipe off with one mf and follow up with another mf and "buff" off. After the second panel I will use about 1.5-2 sprays and then 1-1.5 sprays every panel thereafter. Same method, wipe with one mf then follow up with another drier MF. Too much AW can mute some colors and even darken them a bit - some have reported cloudy finishes by either using too many sprays or more than monthly application
