duragloss 105 sealant topped by Megs 26 question

Hello! I plan on waxing my car differently this winter and was wondering if anyone can critique my plan.



a) Go to local car wash and ONR the whole car.

b) Drive car home and use Meg's Ultimate QD to clean the car off misc. debris from

the ride home.

c) Apply DG's #105 sealant. Wait three hours.

d) Apply Meg's #26 carnuba wax and wipe off with DG's Aquawax.

e) Wait ten hours overnight and layer DG Aquawax on top again.



How does that sound? Should I apply the Meg's carnuba wax first then sealant?

First off using a QD before a sealant isn't good.



Second why wipe off #26 with AW? And sealants should have 12 to 24 hours before being topped.





Doing it your planned way to me will give you no longivity. Also sealants don't go well over a Carnuba.

they next week when you wash:



a) ONR the whole car @ home

b) Apply DG's Aquawax.

c) repeat ONR & AW as often as you want
 
I live in a apartment complex that does not car washing. I can't even ONR because the complex mgtment doesn't want water on the parking lot that's why I can only ONR at the car wash place then drive home to apply sealant/wax.
 
I live in an aprtment too. I wash at the car wash and drive home too. I would do it like BigJim other wise. I wash and AW at the car wash place myself evey week or so.
 
My dilemma is when I drive ten minutes home from the car wash place my car might catch some debris while the sealant is curing. That's why I wanted to use some sort of cleaner wax to clean the debris off then apply the sealant on top.
 
I use DG101 myself after I clay with QD, so I don't think 105 after a QD should cause any problems but 101 or another cleaner would be better before 105.
 
Why not just mix up some ONR with water in a spray bottle, and use that instead of the QD? Wash your car at the car wash (regular ONR wash), then come home and wipe it down with the ONR spray mixture. Then apply the DG. Wait 24 hours, wipe it down with the ONR spray mixture again, and apply the 26.



No need in using your pricey QD, when you can mix some ONR up for dirt cheap in a spray bottle, plus, doesn't the UQD have some sealing proerties anyway (I think the bottle even says it needs to cure for 12 hours)?
 
I think one of the keys to all the suggestions here is to make sure you wait the full 24 hours before anything touches the 105. To get a good strong bond you should wait at least 12 hours but 24 to be safe. Then the 105 is good to go. You can throw almost anything at it and it won't budge.
