Durable Tire Gloss?

So I have never been able to get any more shine out of a tire gloss than 1 or 2 rainstorms. Recently I tried one of the more durable tire shines Carpro Perl and it was a waste of time. I applied it according to directions on a new tire that had about 800mi on it, washed, scrubbed with curved tire brush and Amazing roll off 3 times then applied, and it still only lasted a few rainstorms with a few remnants of it left on the tire. I dunno maybe I used it wrong but I followed the directions to a T and mixed it 1:1 with water.

Anyone have any advice on a real durable tire gloss that lasts through more than few rainstorms? Not really interested in Black Pearl as it seems to be more of a paint on coating than a nice tire gloss that leaves that Black Licorice finish. Also tried Optima tire sealant but it looked kind of fake also.

The new formula Pinnacle Black Onyx is pretty durable. I got a month out of it on 2 coats. Although it doesn't rain in so Cal that much.

Meguiar's D163 seems to last about 3 weeks for me.

2-3 weeks seems to be typical for a water based tire dressing.

If you want something with longer durability you will have to go with a tire coating. Turtle Wax Jet Black Endura Shine is pretty good. Tuff shine gets a lot of praise as well.
 
^They barely last 3 days when it rains out.

Gyeon Tire will last through rain easily if applied correctly. (Heat gun/hair dryer)

I just tried a new way of applying it and I think I got the best results this time. It's been two weeks so far and hasn't shown any signs of durability issues yet.

*multiple rainstorms, humidity, sun, below average miles driven and washed twice without re-application.
 
My most recent tire tests have been with DuraGloss 253. Weather has been nasty in Western PA lately, with constant rainstorms. I'm seeing an honest 3 weeks from 253. Refresh has been simple, just a light scrub with a 1:10 APC, not strong enough to disturb the wax on the wheels. Not a high gloss product, but the satin look is my preference.

I'm not sure I like a high shine on tires, but rather a satin sheen on clean tires so they look like brand new tires. That said, I've used Megs Tire shine spray and I have some Stoner's More Shine spray...but I quite like to look of plain old 303 Aerospace Protectant. I spray it on and swipe with a paint brush and walk away. Makes the tires look new, but not like shinny plastic. On the down side, it doesn't last 30 days, more like a week or two.
 
What I have been irked with is, my back tires don't take the shine as well as the fronts. They are different sizes BTW, but same brand and model all the way around. This has occurred on two different brands of tires! :unsure:
 
I've had the same issues with my current dressing. When I run out of my current oil based dressing from CG (yes I bought oil based as I didn't know better at the time) I'm going to shop around for something better. For now I just apply it daily (PITA). It looks so good and smells like crack, so I get my daily fix. Oh and it doesn't sling as long as I don't drive off 15 seconds after applying, it gives me time to wipe up any bird bombs and pick up the leafs stuck in the cowl while it set's/dries.
 
From my use if you want a tire shine that last you need to look at something like TuffShine. (What I have been using). There are others similar to it as well.

Yes the the prep is longer but it last months and cleaning is a breeze. And whenever it starts to fade I just add another application. And you determine the gloss based on how many layers you apply.

Since you have been using it...

What do you do if someone curbs a tire? Have to go through whole process all over?

I simply scrub the tire a little bit and reapply. Since all the prep work is already done to get rid of the silicone you can just reapply.
