Durable all-in-one?

I have been using D151 with great success for the past 3 years now on the low end basic exterior detail packages. I use my Makita rotary with it and it looks great. Customers are happy, until the durability isn't what quite they expected. The water beads once, maybe twice and after that it is gone. I'm just about out of D151 and I want to order a new AIO that beads for 3-4 months, on average.

I need something that gives the same dramatic results (to the untrained eye) as D151, is easy to work with using a rotary, cost effective to purchase in volume, and is durable!

What should I be looking at?

There is nothing with that level of cut that has the sort of durability your are looking for. If you want to sacrifice some cut, ZAIO will outlast most sealants. DG501 is also another great choice, again, with much less cut.

I like optimum poli-seal the cut is not as strong as 151 but the shine and ease of use makes up for it no dust wipes off very easy will not stain trim. My favorite aio by far I have not tried zaino.

Best non abrasive AIO I've used....

Poorboy's Polish with Sealant

Best abrasive AIO I've used....

Meguiar's D151

If you use 151 and then Meg's Synthetic Spray Wax to take it off, you a really good combo. Yeah it's an extra step but when you polish out one panel THEN mist and remove 151, it only takes like 6 extra seconds. This way you get decent correction too.

Poliseal is great, I love it too, but its just not anymore durable than D151.

I was liking the looks of poliseal until I saw this test. I guess it isn't any better then D151. It is not cost effective to use ZAIO or an OTC like Nufinish on hundreds of cars. Why doesn't Meg's offer something like D151 (call it D152) with 3-4 month durability for a slightly higher price? I'd buy it.

Its just as easy and it has a bit more cutting power.

You would think it wasn't cost effective till you use it. Its actually mind boggling how little ZAIO you use on a single car. Even on a rough finish, I'd guess I'd use 1/2 to maybe an ounce if I was using lots of pads. On a similar car, I'd use 2oz of Poliseal. The one real strength Poliseal has over ZAIO and DG501/101 is it is great at filling minor swirls. But again, durability isn't that great.

If you're ready give up some cut, how about giving giving M20 Polymer Sealant a try. It's a mild cleaner wax, but it is approved for rotary application, and it may well be the most durable wax Meguiar's presently offers.

does any one know if u could poli charger poli-seal I have been thinking of trying it.

Yes you can but I only tried it on my car and I keep mine so clean I couldn't tell if it helped.

To the OP: do you do the maintenance washes? If they take it to a car wash or wash it themselves, they may be affecting durability with the soap/shampoo they use (too strong). You can certainly retain PoliSeal durability with ONR washes and/or QD after washes. I would expect 2-3months easy with proper washing.

what about srp? is srp even considered an aio?

Yeah, it's an AIO but it doesn't last very long untopped. It lasts longer if you do two applications, but you gotta do it just right or the second merely removes the first, and anyhow in the time it takes to do two you could just top it with something truly durable (not that "layering" it is always a waste though).

If you have a Carbrite distributor you may want to ask for a sample of Tropiglo...I use it for dealer cars and like it a lot. Durability seems to be pretty good, and it fills good too. I have never used 151 so I can not compare the two.

D151 vs poliseal/srp are somehow different animal. D151 is more aggressive and isn't user friendly with hand application especially softer clear, you do need to 'work the polish' but it is an awesome product for machine polish imo. SRP is freaking easy with hand application but tricky with buffer.

Detailer's Pride Poli-Coat is really good. Not much cut, mostly just deep cleans the finish but it holds up well and is definitely anti-static.

Huh...tricky in what way? Can't recall ever having any issues with it

Me neither. Accumulator - have you ever noticed any sealants having bonding issues with SRP? I usually use OCW and have yet to try anything else. Would like to try Opti-Seal on top of it some day too just to givbe SRP a little umpth.
