Dumb question can you use a Random Orbit Sander to polish your car? (with a foam pad) I am not a mechanic so I don't know.

I don't see what the problem would be. Give it a test run to make sure it is not too fast/aggressive.

Yes, but you will need a velcro backing plate.

The PC was designed as a sander, my older one has zero mention of "polishing", just sanding.

Yeah, you can, just follow Mark's advice about "test" a spot or two. I gather it's an electric model.

Got some, put a velcro back plate on one and have used it for "quicky" jobs on spots.

That will work like a champ!

Very similar to my Bosch, except it has speed control, so just don't over load it, in other words, watch the pressure you apply when using.

I even use a larger 7 or 8 inch foam pad on the 5 inch plate for light polishing/wax/sealant application.
