Drying Techniques-What product to use?

Meguiars Water Magnet, one of the best drying towels hands down. Its OTC too.

I agree. Ive tried the california drying towel from ADS and the MF drying towel from Target and while both dry really well, they do not 'glide' over the paint. I find myself having trouble pushing it around on the paint since it tends to grab the surface.

Yes, my paint is waxed.

Target had the vroom MF drying towels on sale 2 for 8 bucks last week. I stocked up. I use the leaf blower, followed by the WW, followed by a nice soft MF towel. I only deal with black cars so the drying process is pretty important. I have to admit to screwing up some pretty nice polish jobs by drying the car wrong.

I also tend to go over the streaks with QD when I miss something with the MF in the end. I do have to say the the WW do a heck of a job when it comes to the amount of water they can suck up.

Warning, don't waste your money on the Megs :MF shamy. It is a joke. Actually, I don't see the use in a shamy anyways. They never completely dry anything.

Todd needs to chime in here. He seems to wash the car like five times when he is in his detail process. I probably need to also but I hate the fact of getting the car wet again and chance swirling it up after a polish. But it is almost impossible to get all of the dust out of the cracks without a nice foam bath.

Agreed, I would stay away from most OTC drying towels except for the Water Magnet.

I think they are hit and miss. I have one that isn't that great. I think my WalMart WW's are more absorbant. The best WW I have I found in the kitchen section at Target a few years ago. Extremely soft and absorbant.

These threads always make me envious of people whose cotton towels don't get stiff and those who can do the sheeting rinse (which I used every time at the previous shop).
