Drivepur

I've never had an issue with any of the products sticking to the windows, or anything for that matter. I will do a quick wipe down with a MF and water as needed.

After reading this whole thread I still cannot find any info on cost. Can anyone give a ballpark? I understand it might vary a little depending on region, but are we talking $200, $500, $1000+?

Depends which route you go, the fogger and a gallon of each chemical run me around 900$.

Thanks. And from my understanding you should be able to do approx 30-40 applications/gallon. Is that correct? Fogger= `$500? So each gallon is ~$130? Minus the one time cost of fogger that gives me about $13/application. Does this sound ballpark?

Yup you're spot on. You can get better deals if you buy the gallons by the case as well so depending on your volume you could do better on pricing.

As long as you use the fogger.

I've seen horrendous results on black plastice where the spray bottles were used and not wiped off immediately with a wet towel; then followed up with Shok.

I recently got the DrivePur System with the new and improved fogger. I have used it on a few vehicles and so far I have not been overly impressed with the results and I think its because of my application.

Any of you DrivePur pros care to give me a quick run-down of the process you use or critique my technique?

Assuming the vehicle has been fully detailed this is how I have been doing it...

1. Use spray bottle to spray Klenze on all carpet and upholstery. Let sit for 10 minutes. Vacuum.

2. With vehicle running and AC on, fan set to re-circulate and temperature set to medium. Run Smok for 5 minutes or more depending on size of vehicle.

3. Allow product to dwell in vehicle for 5 - 10 minutes before running Shok and Prevent for about 5 minutes each allowing dwell time between each product.

4. Open all doors and get as much light and airflow through the vehicle for a few hours.

What are you charging in your respective market place for this service?

Well I've just had another car come back for a retreatment while using Drive Pur. In terms of % of cars coming back for retreatment I'm at 60%. Do I suck at the application I don't think so, in fact I over apply the Smok, shok, prevent part to really get in all the knooks and crannies. I had one of the distributors come in an help teach the application, and that car came back again. Do I get it the second time..........nope. Is this product diffcult to apply? Does it truly work for the long haul? I'm am truly frustrated because my clients are with the system.

I'm at the point I don't think there really is a LONG term system that will rid a car of smoke. That SH#$ gets into places we just can really clean.

Couple things that are really important:

1. ensure the cabin air filter is replaced if it has one BEFORE you do the treatment

2. ensure the headliner/visors are cleaned properly

3. ensure you clean everything possible in the interior of the car including the trunk and seat belts.

4. If the car has been heavily smoked in pre-spray SMOK into the headliner and under the seats before treating with the fogger

5. If the car has been heavily smoked in allow the SMOK product to run for 7-10 minutes instead of the normal 5 and allow 15 minutes between the end of this set and the SHOK step

6. Make sure to explain to customers that vehicles that are particularly bad may require additional treatments

If you are really thorough you'll get it but the product takes a little getting used to.

SUPER DUPER CHECK

CHECK

4. If the car has been heavily smoked in pre-spray SMOK into the headliner and under the seats before treating with the fogger

Tornado application, 3 times......slow overlapping patter really getting the product on the material

5. If the car has been heavily smoked in allow the SMOK product to run for 7-10 minutes instead of the normal 5 and allow 15 minutes between the end of this set and the SHOK step

See above

6. Make sure to explain to customers that vehicles that are particularly bad may require additional treatments

Did that, but its such a hassle for them

I know your trying to help, but believe me I was super deliberate in the application and the pre cleaning I did.

GREG

Greg, how many vehicles have you treated and would you say you have had good results on other odors (pet, musty smell, etc)? Are you using the fogger or toranador?

Its funny how some people swear by it and others people dont have much success. I have only treated 4 cars since getting the system and I'm hoping that my application technique is the problem because so far I'm not too impressed.
