DP Waterless Wash instead of FK 146?

I'm getting ready to purchase a gallon of FK 146 but then notice that DP Waterless Wash is on sale at AG. Now I'm not sure what to get. I use and love the 146 but have never tried DP WAW. Has anyone used both and can evaluate their performance?

you would need both right?

146 is what I use to 'double check' that the paint is clean after using No Rinse or a regular wash. Then I follow with pink wax or 425 or Aqua Wax etc.

I wouldn't attempt to use 146 to remove heavy soot/soil.

146 is just a quick detailer with more bite.

I might use this Waterless Wash like DP or Poorboys on the lower portions: rocker panels under the rear bumpers, around the wheels wells etc. Sounds good for bird bombs especially.

But I agree 146 leaves a very slick and shiny finish. Remind me again why we don't just stop at that point? :p

p.s.

146 like 425 also has anti-static properties. At first it souned like marketing BS to me but the more I leave other non-FK product 'bare' on the paint the more I think its not BS.

I've also noticed the car washes easier, like dirty waterspots don't ever realy 'stick' to the paint like when I just had plain old Carnauba on the surface.

DP waterless wash is NOT even close to as good as 146. The DP will streak very easy, is really only good on paint. It is by no means a bucket wash type product. Its a QD. IMHO the DP 4n1 mixed as a QD is better then the waterless wash. I also really like the 4n1 as a bucket wash... seems to work very well and has a nice orange scent. Let me know if you want some DP waterless wash, I might have a full bottle I could sell ya for less then the sale price.

I concur I love the 4 in 1 just just have to mix it a little stronger than AG recomends. If they say 4:1 do it 3:1.

I bought a gallon of each

love the 146

dp 4 in 1 does absolutely nothing for me!

The fk products seem to be hi performance products!

:waxing:

OK, I guess I'm in for the gallon of 146. I have to order a gallon of 425 anyway. I found some of the elusive Duragloss AW today and am initially impressed. It was so easy to apply and my car looks terrrific. Here's what my car's wearing now:

Klasse AIO (plus some FK215 and FK303 applied on the horizontal surfaces)

FK 2180 on the horizontal surfaces, Z2pro on the rest (I know, wierd)

Jeff's AJ

Natty's blue

and now Aquawax

liberal sprayings of 425 when the mood strikes :dance

My husband thinks I'm obsessed and of course he's right :buffing:

I really like the FK 146. I was going to order a gallon of poorboy's Spray & Wipe , but wondering if I should do the 146 instead. I'm a big waterless wash fan since I alway's like my truck clean & shiney. I never wash my own vehicle....water at home is soooo hard from the hose so I do a touchless wash and then hit with S&W or FK 146. ALway's has worked great for me even on my black vehicles. never had a problem's with scratches or anything, alway's used good towel too.

How do you think the 146 compares to PB S&W ? what gallon would you buy ?

So I ended up ordering a gallon of 146 and 425 along with PW and 1000P to try out. I have never tried PB S&W so I have no basis for comparison. Right now I'm really liking the 425 over Aquawax. I have had no streaking problems (as others have reported) with AW and it just seems to glide onto my paint. It's going on over Natty's Blue. Seems to be a good combo.

I use both S&W and 146. Both are excellent products in my view. S&W has better cleaning power IMO. Bug squash and light road grime come off very easily. 146 has excellent cleaning power, much more than 425 but it doesn't clean as well as S&W for me.

That said, 146 leaves the finish slicker and it does seem to attract less dust...but more bugs. (FK's QD's attract lots of bugs on my car. No big deal but just a tad strange to me.)

The gloss of 146 is better than S&W. S&W leaves very little behind but it does have some gloss potential.

I really love both of these products and wouldn't want to be without either of them.

I also have the DP Waterless Wash and I agree that while it's a decent product, it is not as good as either S&W or 146.

BTW, Fallguy, we have extremely hard well water and I have no hose. I have been using Optimum's No RInse Wash and Shine with amazing results. No problems with the hard water at all. No spots, etc. The products really seems to condition the water to a degree that it's totally safe and comfortable to use with no problems. I use the second bucket to rinse and that's the regular well water but the fact that the mit/sponge always goes in the Optimum bucket before it hits the paint seems to make all the difference in the world.

Ordered a gallon of DP 4in1 myself but also got Optimum no rinse

I will be using it in my custom shampoo/conditioner formula which has natural extracts, basically as a water softener and conditioner and will add to my QD which does have FK 425 in it and prima slick

Will be good to see how 4in1 goes against optimum
