Don`t you hate when that happens? Ash

velobard:
Industrial and environmental, both natural and from disasters like forest fires, fallout present a real problem for vehicle exterior surfaces. I think we can all agree that pollen, tree sap, bug splatter, bird droppings, and ancillary fungus (those in the South know what I am talking about!) present all kinds of problems for exterior surfaces. These natural environmental "problems" just reinforce the idea that a vehicle NEEDS some type of exterior protection on it and that it is NOT a waste of time and money to do so (well, at least to those who care about their vehicle, like any self-respecting Autopian!)

We in the Upper Midwest face ANOTHER summer of smoke and haze from Canada to our north. While it may be not pose any problems to a vehicle`s exterior, unless their are particulates and ash like you experienced, it does pose a BIG problem to myself who have asthma, or others with breathing and lung health problems like COPD, and being kept indoors when I could (should) be wash a vehicle or cutting the lawn is, well, more than just "an inconvenience", it is a health hazard. It is what it is and trying to change it, short of invading Canada and putting out those fires by USA personnel, it just ain`t gonna happen. Any further discussion is Captain Obvious (me) making "inappropriate" comments on Climate Change and Global Warming that are outside of the scope of this discussion topic and forum`s purpose.

Let me just say I am glad velobard got the ash off his vehicle from a close-at-hand industrial fire.
