Domino's Pizza

Anyone try the new pizza? I'll be honest, I never knew the old tasted like poo. We don;t don't have many Domino's around us so we always order from the mom and pop pizza places. After seeing all the commercials we ended up picking up a pizza from Domino's this past weekend and I must say, it was excellent. I was surprised. But was the old stuff really that bad?

I'm curious to try it too. IMO the old stuff had really gone down hill. As a rule, food prices have crept up pretty fast yet pizza prices have stayed pretty low, so I guess the quality of ingredients really went down hill. The cheese and sauce were terrible on the last Dominos I had.

same here, and that was the last time i ever ate from there. heck, even papa johns pizza was better IME...

We had ordered Domino's a couple of times over the last year or so and it definitely wasn't that great. Like the commercials say, their crust was like cardboard. Their cheese wasn't very good either.

I'm sick of Papa John's as well. Now we just order from local, non-franchise pizza places. Their pizza's taste much better than the chains.

I have had both...The old Domino's pizza was great for those late night binges after you left the bar and had enough alcohol to blur your food judgement...

The new stuff...actually not too bad, and that's sober! lol Seriously though, the old pizza was mediocre at best...while the new one isn't quite mom and pop shop quality, it's much improved over the old.

I mostly agree with what's already been said. In the last couple of years Domino's had gotten to the point that in order to offer low prices the quality had suffered.

We tried the "new" version after all the advertising hype and it seemed a little better, but still a far cry from a good non-franchise authentic pizza parlor.

The biggest difference I tasted/smelled was the garlic they applied to the crust rim, but the rest of it still had that old Domino feel to a certain extent. Toppings are still fairly skimpy too.

They offer good prices and quick delivery, but not much flavor IMO.

When we visit in Michigan, it's Jets Pizza for us. All others are a compromise.

The Domino's here closed a few years ago.

I miss Hungry Howies pizza and their flavored crusts. That was my main diet when growing up in Michigan, that and national coney island.

Back on topic I need to try the new Dominos!!!:)

I just had the new stuff tonight, and while it does taste really good, the stuff is loaded with grease. I could just feel my heart slowing down while I ate the stuff. And hell, i'm 22 and young, you know its bad when I say that.

My wife and her family love domino's like it's the only pizza joint on the planet. I've never liked them personally. Everything about it just tasted off to me and it gave me the runs more often than not. I'm not even sure where the closest domino's would be to us now. I haven't seen one around. But if they actually changed everything about the pizza I'd be in for a test pie.

The old one was definitely like cardboard and the tomato was like runny ketchup. I was a little shocked when I saw the commercial, I didn't know there were people who felt the same way about it lol :) Can't wait to taste the new one!

I haven't tried the new stuff but I remember the old stuff looked nice, but it tasted like cardboard and was utterly unsatisfying, and with no flavor. Much like those $10 pizzas that we sometimes buy just because they are cheap...and in the end, we still regret spending that small amount because the pizza was horrible (and the pizza shop should have paid us to eat it) :).

Will try the new Domino's next time I have pizza.

I live just outside of NYC, so it's been a long time since I ordered from any of from the chain stores. I really don't know know how so many are still in business around here when any given place has several great family owned pizzerias right nearby.

For conveyor belt oven pizza, it's hard to beat the stuff from Costco if you've got one nearby.

Since Dominos is headquartered somewhere in Michigan I assumed guys would have them all over the place like we have Papa John's all over the place here in Louisville.

The quality of Dominos seemed to go down after Monohagn (is that his name?) sold the company. I guess they are trying to make a come back.

Yeah, it's weird. We have one near us and the next closest is a little too far to go get it and bring it home and have it still be warm. LOL

A coworker just asked me if I had Domino's the other night for dinner. I guess when she went in to pick it up she saw my name on the computer screen. LOL

I like the new Domino's pizza. They added garlic to the crust among other things. I also like using their online order system. I think they did a good job with that--it even shows the name of the person making your pizza.
