I'm going to be doing a car with single stage paint, and I was wonderring if you guys add the cost for new pads into these jobs since they'll be permanently stained after using them on the SS paint.

I recently did a SS car and I soaked my pads in Oxyclean over night then used a brush with dish soap and they came out like new...SS paint will not stain the pads if they are cleaned right and with a good soap

lol, in that case it would be cheaper for me... er, actually the customer, if I added their cost to the detail.

^ So if you were not able to get all the residual paint color out of the pad you would be fine using this on, say a white car for example? I always thought that perhaps the color could transfer and perhaps result in a less than stellar finish.
As a side note, I would think most astute detailers would incorporate the cost of consumables in their detail prices...essentially charging for materials to be replaced/replenished. Say I do a job that takes me 6 hours, which would be $125 @ $25/hour, I would charge $130 for the detail. In the case I'm asking about, I was thinking of adding more for the pads, but if the pros re-use them, I'll do the same.
