Monday I will be doing a 99 Chevy Malibu. The owner only wants me to do the interior. I went and looked at the car recently tonight and I must say, it's going to be quite a task. I can't take pics because I don't have a camera(I know sounds lame) He smokes in it, you can smell it first thing, the carpet looks pretty bad but not horrible. Just dirty everywhere. I don't have the luxury of a carpet extractor so I'll have to make do with what I got. This is my plan of attack on it. If any of you wish to correct the steps for better advice or a better product to use, please chime in.
-Vaccum throughly
-Mix Meguiars Citri Gel APC in a bucket of warm water
-Scrub everywhere with a hard bristled brush
-get a warm bucket of plain water and a boat load of cheap white cotton towels, use these to rinse the carpet
-vaccum carpet with shop vac
Does this sound about right??? The Malibu's carpet doesn't have any real huge stains or anything, it's just very dirty and discolored in spots from the dirt and grime,,,,,91
